FROM MTV NEWS: It feels like just a few weeks ago that we were watching Rebel Wilson bring the thunder from Down Under to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. Oh, wait—that's because it was just a few weeks ago. But it's never too early to clear our calendars for next year's festivities.

MTV announced today that the 2014 Movie Awards will take place on April 13, while its crooning cousin, the Video Music Awards, will take the stage on August 24.

Jenna Hamilton will discover just how much change blows when the third season of MTV's "Awkward" premieres tonight at 10 p.m.

We caught up with the cast, including Ashley Rickards (Jenna), Jillian Rose Reed (Tamara) and Brett Davern (Jake) at this weekend's MTV Movie Awards, and they were ready, willing and able to spill some scoop on what we can expect from their characters in the upcoming episodes.

"Jenna's going to go to a whole new level of dark, and I am so excited to play it as an actress," Ashley said. "I think the fans will just love it."

But if anyone knows what fans will love, it's Jillian and Brett, who offered the most titillating tidbits to tease eager viewers.

After hearing so much talk of shenanigans on the set of "The Hunger Games," we thought for sure that the newbies in the "Catching Fire" cast would be in for some major hazing at the hands of their fellow tributes (particularly Jennifer Lawrence, whose goat-getting abilities are legend for obvious reasons). But when we caught up with Alan Ritchson, who joined the cast this year as career tribute Gloss, he had nothing but good things to say about his experience making the film.

"No hazing, fortunately," he said, laughing. Instead, he described "Catching Fire" as a great place to be, adding, "But to be a part of that, it was pretty cool. Jennifer's star just continued to rise, even through production...it was just cool to be there."

If you're among the "The Hunger Games" fans who tuned in to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards and witnessed the debut of the teaser for "Catching Fire," your reaction to seeing the first ever peek at what's in store for Katniss, Peeta and the citizens of Panem come November was probably something like AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH *HYPERVENTILATES* *RUNS IN CIRCLES* *FLAILS OFF A CLIFF*.

...And that's okay! Because while the rest of us flailed and squealed our way into a concussion, a full-body cast and a lovely night spent behind bars at our local police precinct, MTV had a trio of experts (Erin Gross, The HungerGamesMovies.net; Kimmy West, Mockingjay.net; and Amie Bohannon, HGGirlOnFire.com) ready behind the scenes to offer the sort of eloquent, insightful, sedately non-flailing response to the "Catching Fire" tease that most of us could only have achieved through the use of a full-body straitjacket and a nice shot of horse tranquilizers. Check out the video to see our three cool-as-a-cucumber aficionados as they weigh in on their favorite things about the trailer—including Katniss' brave face as she stared down the barrel of a gun, a grim and grownup Prim preparing to join the revolution and the fact that we didn't see so much as a second of arena action. (No, really, this is a good thing! The experts say so!)

Anybody can record a great a capella performance, but to do it live, in front of millions? The cast of "Pitch Perfect" proved why they deserved the award for Best Musical Performance, hitting all the right notes when they opened the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.

There weren't any dinosaurs, and Blue Ivy did NOT perform as promised, but there was plenty of fire as the Barden Bellas and Treblemakers reunited to put their spin on Miley Cyrus' "The Climb," Eminem's "Lose Yourself," Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire" and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop."

Rumors of Emma Watson entering Christian's Red Room of Pain as Anastasia Steele in the big-screen adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" have persisted for months (despite the actress' recent Twitter denial). But even we were surprised by Jonah Hill's announcement during Sunday's MTV Movie Awards.

While feting the actress for her Trailblazer honor, the actor dropped this bit of casting news:

"Emma Watson is such a beautiful, lovely, talented, hard-working person. I'm very appreciative to be in her life. That's why I want to take this opportunity to announce officially that we will be starring in the screen adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey.'"

Consider the spark of rebellion lit.

The teaser trailer for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire"—introduced by star Liam Hemsworth—blazed onto the scene Sunday night during the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.

The nearly two-and-a-half minute clip opens with a familiar scene—the sneak peek of Katniss and Peeta taking to the Justice Building stage during their Victory Tour stop in District 11, where a deadly riot ensues. From there, director Francis Lawrence takes us behind-the-scenes of the Capitol, as President Snow and new Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee (R.I.P. Seneca Crane's beard) are conspiring.

If, by some chance, you haven't heard the aca-awesome news, the cast of "Pitch Perfect"— including MTV Movie Awards host Rebel Wilson, Skylar Astin, Anna Camp, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee, Ben Platt, Brittany Snow and Utkarsh Ambudkar—are reuniting to pitch slap the hell out of Sunday's ceremony (airing live at 9 p.m. ET).

So what will we see when the Barden Bellas and Treblemakers take the stage during the opening act? Well, if Skylar, Ester, Hanna Mae and Utkarsh are to be believed, all of the following: dinosaurs, fire people, molten lava, the Blue Men Group, gas and Blue Ivy. Pretty impressive, huh?
