Hot Stuff

  • Feast Your Eyes On Cover And EXCLUSIVE Excerpt From Margaret Stohl's 'Idols'
  • 'Beautiful Player' Audiobook EXCLUSIVE: Let's Get Hot And Sweaty!
  • Peep The EXCLUSIVE Book Trailer For Marie Lu's 'Champion'

Confession: When a YA novel is being brought to the big screen, we don't usually get all hot and bothered over who's gonna be the dad, y'know? But then again, most YA novel dads aren't adorable, scruffy, pipe-smoking former punk rockers like the one in "If I Stay"—and they don't get played by fairly crushworthy actors with cute beards like Joshua Leonard. So, yeah, we're a little excited over the announcement from Deadline this morning that Joshua has been tapped to play Denny Hall, father to main character Mia, in the movie adaptation of Gayle Forman's book.

For the uninitiated, "If I Stay" is the story of Mia, who is the only one to survive a car accident that kills both her parents and her brother. Caught in a state of comatose limbo, she's faced with a choice: to return to the land of the living, or to just let go. (Or in other words, it's great that Joshua has joined the cast, but all things considered, we probably won't be seeing much of him.)

Put those puckers away!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Victoria Justice will star in the upcoming rom-com "Naomi + Ely's No Kiss List."

The project is based on the YA novel from Rachel Cohn and David Levithan (authors of “Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist”). In the flick, the former “Victorious” star will be joined by up-and-coming hottie Pierson Fode.

The movie revolves around childhood besties, Naomi and Ely, who have always crushed on one another, despite the fact that Ely is gay. The twosome head off to NYU where their friendship and their “No Kiss List” policy is put to the test when they both end up liking the same guy. The film will shoot in New York.

We really need to buy some property in Mystic Falls! "The Vampire Diaries" is set to welcome another good-looking dude to the cast. Michael Malarkey will join the show later this season.

According to Deadline, Michael will have a recurring role on the vampire drama where he’s set to hang out with Damon.

Michael will play Enzo, a former pal of Damon’s who lands back in town wanting to see what Damon has been up to. No word on if he is of the fanged persuasion as well, but he’s described as “a charismatic but tortured figure.” Just what that town needs! More charismatic, tortured guys! His debut is slated for December 5. If you ask us, Damon could use a new drinking buddy. He hasn’t been the same since Alaric died back in season three.

It looks like this time around, there's only room for one Matthews child.

The highly anticipated "Boy Meets World" spin-off, “Girl Meets World," recently made a change to their cast, letting go of actor Teo Halm. The teen was set to play Elliot Matthews, Cory and Topanga’s son and older brother to the show’s titular girl, Riley (played by Rowan Blanchard).

Teo took to Twitter to break the news, writing, “So guys, Disney decided that it wouldn't work to have an older brother on the show; I won't be on Girl Meets World. Thank you to everyone."

Mindy Kaling is ready to be romanced by Timothy Olyphant on this season of “The Mindy Project.” And, really, who could blame her?

The “Justified” star is slated to play an upcoming love interest for Dr. Mindy Lahiri on the Fox sitcom, once her pastor beau, Casey, makes his exit. And, from the sound of it, Timothy will be bringing the funny to the sitcom. He’s slated to play a middle-aged skateboarder who woos the good doctor later this season.

We got all the details on his appearance from Mindy herself when we chatted with her earlier this month.

“Well, Tim is like so funny. He came up doing standup, so no one knows how funny he is ‘cause he plays essentially modern day cowboys in a lot of the stuff he does. Or, actual cowboys like in ‘Deadwood.’ But he’s in all these excellent dramas and he’s so good at them and gets awards for them,” she told MTV News. “But he’s also just like a super-funny dude. So we have him playing this part. He’s basically our take on a Tony Hawk-type skateboarder, like a middle-aged skateboarder, we decided was like a funny [role].”

With a title like "Fallen," you know that the film based on Lauren Kate's YA series is going to have some angelic overtones...and when it comes to casting its leading men, we're gonna need some seriously heavenly hotness to round out the roster, here. Sooooo, no surprise to find out that dimpled cutie-pie Harrison Gilbertson is officially on board the film as the story's resident irresistible bad boy. The author posted the news herself this morning, prompting much sinful speculation on the part of the "Fallen" fandom.

Harrison might not be a familiar face to American audiences, but he's done a lot of work both big and small-screen in his native Australia—including rubbing shoulders with the all-star cast of "The Turning" this year. (There are, like, a dozen "Lord of the Rings" alumni in that one.)

Sure, production on the final two installments of "The Hunger Games" film franchise began this week in Atlanta, but there are still casting announcements to be had, you guys. Like this latest via the studio's official Twitter: Omid Abtahi has joined the cast as Homes.

A soldier from District 13, Homes is prized for his facility shooting long-distance targets and is among those who aid District 12 tribute Katniss Everdeen during the revolution.

Omid's own resume is chockablock with roles on shows like "NCIS: Los Angeles," "Last Resort," "Revolution" and "Covert Affairs." He also appeared in the Oscar-winning film "Argo."

Ducks Mockingjays fly together!

Ready for some casting news "Hunger Games" fans and "Mighty Ducks" enthusiasts can squawk about? Elden Henson, otherwise known as the hard-hitting "Bash Brother" Fulton Reed in Disney's hockey film franchise, has been cast as Pollux in "Mockingjay," according to an announcement from Lionsgate.

Fans of Suzanne Collins' dystopian series know Pollux as the Avox who becomes heroine Katniss Everdeen's cameraman and guide to Panem's underground. Big and burly, Pollux works alongside his brother Castor, who was also cast today. "The Help" actor Wes Chatham will assume that role. This rounds out the District 12 tribute's camera crew, which already included Cressida (played by Natalie Dormer) and Messalla (played by Evan Ross).

All you Katniss Kids can rest easy tonight—the District 12 tribute's protector has been found.

Lionsgate announced today that actor Mahershala Ali will join the cast of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2" as Boggs. Fans of Suzanne Collins' dystopian trilogy upon which the films are based will recognize the name of President Coin's (played by Julianne Moore) right-hand man, who's tasked with watching over Katniss as she films propaganda. (He's also the guy who unfortunately ends up on the wrong side of Gale's fist, resulting in a bloody proboscis...)

Mahershala will be a familiar face to TV watchers, as he's appeared on a number of series over the past decade, including "Crossing Jordan," "Treme," "Alphas" and "House of Cards." He's also starred in several feature films, "The Place Beyond the Pines" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," among them.

It's a happy ending for Adam Pally after all! The former "Happy Endings" star has just been named a series regular on "The Mindy Project."

Although Adam has yet to appear on the just-launched season two of "The Mindy Project," The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that he’s already booked a regular gig on the show after initially signing on for a recurring role. But, we’ve got even more information for you.

We had the pleasure of chatting with Mindy Kaling earlier this week, and she revealed some details about her practice’s latest addition. “Pally is my favorite, and he plays this guy Peter Prentiss, who kind of takes over after [James] Franco leaves,” she explained. “And he is a Dartmouth undergrad/Dartmouth medical school grad.”
