Kisil Mission, vision, values About the Firm History Recognition Social responsibility Video Main Who we are Print page > History Company history dates back to 1987, when a group of students decided to found their own company to provide legal services. They brought this idea to the ever popular and highly respected among students Professor of the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University Dr. Vasil Kisil who taught them private international law. Their initiative gained support and the idea became a reality when in 1987 one of the first Ukrainian co-ops was created with the purpose of providing legal services, since this was the only possible form of doing private business at the time. Over the years the range of legal services expanded and the legislature itself has undergone many changes, which prompted the development of law business in Ukraine. New opportunities and new market trends dictated that we think of a more thorough internal organizational structure and systems of client-attorney interaction. Thus, in 1992 the cooperative was transformed into "Vasil Kisil & Partners" LLC. In 2003 VKP has been reorganized into an association of lawyers based on partnership, which marked the next stage in firm's development. The lawyers' association traditionally functions guided by solid principles of in-depth expertise and integrated solutions to business challenges, deriving strength from strong relationships built within the partnership. Today VKP has 13 partners and over 50 lawyers whose professionalism is recognized and confirmed by peers, as well as individual and firm wide ratings of renown specialized international and Ukrainian publications.
