Post Release 2012

Inspirational talks, great workshops, exciting new connections and friends, competitions, parties… That’s what AGILEEE 2012 provided to every participant last weekend. Now we would like to thank everyone for taking part in Season 4 and making it happen!
So let’s see how it was:

Friday night, 5th of October – that was a perfect time & date to start breaking the ice before the conference. Jam session, beer and nice presents from our Special sponsor DataArt – that is how AGILEEE guests met and made new friends.

The first day was opened with the live music session and opening words of the main organizers – SCRUMguides team. Such opening became good tradition of all AGILEEE conferences. Henrik Kniberg started the day with his keynote. It was interesting to know how did Swedish police combined Kanban, Scrum and XP in 60-person project. Wow!

During the next timeslots AGILEEE attendees could feel The Beating Heart of Agile with Andrea Provaglio, check 5 arguments against Kanban with Nick Oostvogels or colour their backlog with Timofey Yevgrashyn. By the way, the last talk was on the russian-speaking stage.

The middle of the day was illuminated with the talks by Wiktor Zolnowski, Alexey Krivitsky and Nataliya Trenina.

During the break AGILEEE guests could get their personal magnets with their picture. Such magnets are good helpers on Kanban boards.

After the lunch break (that was especially tasty) agilists could choose between the talks by Robin Dymond about Your Brain and Better Product development and Mikalai Alimenkou about Agile evolution. In the same time a part of our guests joined fantastic workshop by Nathaniel Cadwell, who taught The Art of facilitation.

The next team of speakers included Mads Troels Hansen, who dedicated his talk to Distributed Scrum and Agile and Zuzana Sochova with Agile communications talk.

In the same time two incredible workshops took place on the other stages: the first one was prepared by Dr. Alistair Cockburn. His Elephant Carpaccio Game gathered a lot of agilists and helped them in the process of task decomposition. Second workshop was prepared by Francois Bachmann and Jutta Eckstein. They were giving practical advices how to Scale from a Co-located team to the enterprise.

The first day of AGILEEE was closed by surprising keynote. Henrik Kniberg told us about Agile in one of the projects and at home. We found out how easy it is to plan a trip around the world with the kanban board or how a kid can plan his birthday party using the fridge and stickers.

Fantastic Agile Saturday was continued at the banquet party with the speakers and guests all together. The evening was full of music, smiles and friendly talks.

A great chance to talk to each speaker was given by the organizers. Everyone received special Thankee card before each talk and could give it to the speaker directly. Numerous cards were received by the speakers.

Sunday morning, that was truly sunny, started with the real performance by Lyssa Adkins and Michael Spayd. They showed everyone How Agile Calls Forth Change in Everyone. Live examples from their practice, demo coaching on the stage and deep thoughts penetrated our heads – that’s how the morning started.

This amazing speaker’s duo continued working with a part of our audience during the workshop. Lyssa and Michael gave Live coaching session on Agile transformations.

Another workshop on russian-speaking stage was prepared by Dmytro Mindra. Lean Lego Game gathered all lego fans. By the way, every team after this workshop shared their lego-buildings in social networks. In the same time Piotr Zolnierek Abolished the management on the main stage, Sergey Berezhnoy gave an example of Agile survival in a big company and Anna Obukhova gave an example how Scrum boosts our willpower and productivity.

One special session with lightning talks happened in the middle of the day. Sergey Berezhnoy, Francois Bachmann, Gil Zilberfeld, Andrea Provaglio, Piotr Zolnierek, Andrey Bibichev, Nick Frolov and Robin Dymond share their short talks prepared right during the AGILEEE.Second part of the day gave our attendees an opportunity to visit Advanced User Stories workshop by Francois Bachmann.

Russian speaking stage visitors met Anthony Marchenko with his Kanban implementation experience and Andrey Bibichev with the talk about Geeks vs. Managers.

On the main stage Piotr Burdylo managed gang of chaotic software developers and Gil Zilberfeld explained 10 Phrases that can derail an Agile project.

The day was closed by an outstanding speaker – Steve Keil. He explained why People should be over the Process in a company, gave examples of how natural processes can be used in the team and told his own story about work effectiveness.

One of our sponsors, TargetProcess, prepared an visualisation game. The main prise for the winner was iPad 3. During the closing words they gave away not only the main prise, but also two static boards (right for Kanban).

Thanking our participants for their feedbacks, SCRUMguides chose 3 AGILEEE participants who won free tickets for AGILEEE Season 5.
So after the last guest left President Hotel, we could say Season 4 is finished. AGILEEE team would like to say special thanks to our Gold Sponsors – Ciklum and TargetProcess, Silver Sponsors – JetBrains and Innovel, Special Sponsor – DataArt and Bronze Sponsors – Itera Consulting and ScrumDesk.
Very special thanks to our volunteers – you did a great job!
