Consumer confidence in Ukraine, May 2013: decrease by 3.2 p. to 83.1

June 18, 2013 - In May 2013, the deterioration of consumer confidence of Ukrainians was observed. The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) lost 3.2 p. and dropped to 83.1. The deterioration of CCI was caused by the factors specific to the first quarter, such as the increased fears concerning unemployment and pessimism concerning the economic development against the backdrop of the downward tendency of inflationary and devaluation expectations. It is proved by the data of the consumer confidence survey in Ukraine, which is conducted by GfK Ukraine on a monthly basis. more >>

Consumer confidence in Ukraine, April 2013: increase by 5.1 p. to 86.4

May 22, 2013 - The winter tendency to decreasing of consumer confidence of Ukrainians stopped in April 2013. The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) improved at once by 5.1 p. to 86.4. Considerable improvement of the weather conditions in April in comparison to March resulted in better consumer confidence firstly in the regions, where the weather was the worst in March. This factor as well as holiday inflationary expectations made the Index of Propensity to Consume grew the most. It is proved by the data of the consumer confidence survey in Ukraine, which is conducted by GfK Ukraine on a monthly basis. more >>

Ratings of Vitalii Klytchko and UDAR Party equal to that of Victor Yanukovych and the Party of Regions

May 20, 2013 - If a presidential election were held next week, 16% of Ukrainians would vote for Victor Yanukovych and another 16% would vote for Vitalii Klytchko. In comparison with March figures, Vitalii Klytchko’s rating grew by 6 p.p., while Victor Yanukovych’s rating remained unchanged. If Vitalii Klytchko and Victor Yanukovych went forward to the second round of voting, 38% of Ukrainians would vote for Klytchko and 19% would vote for Yanukovych. If elections to the Verkhovna Rada took place next weekend, 17% of respondents would vote for Vitalii Klytchko’s party UDAR, it is 3 p.p. higher than in March. more >>

Ukrainians do not support legal recognition of same-sex marriage

May 17, 2013 - Only 4.6% of Ukrainians support legal recognition of same-sex marriage, another 16% tolerate civil marriage of same-sex couples. More than half of the respondents, who do not support legal recognition of same-sex marriage, consider such relationships immoral and wicked. 57.3% of Ukrainians would not let men who have sex with other men in Ukraine; 55.8% would not let women who have sex with other women. It is proved by the data of the survey conducted by GfK Ukraine. more >>
