Komuny str., 18), kick-off at 19:30 March 2 – Kyiv, art-pub "Bochka" (Verkhniy Val str., 22), kick-off at 20:00 Information about the project: It has already been five years as Zhadan cooperates with the Kharkiv ska-band "Sobaky u Kosmosi" (Dogs in the Space). During this period the sound of the project has also changed significantly. First, there were lyrical ballads and satiric songs and later on they proceeded with rougher and more dynamic sound and acute social lyrics. Nowadays the musicians play social disco-punk music, the main heroes of their new songs are recognizable representatives of the Presidential Administration, members of the Parliament, Ministry of Emergencies and Ministry of Defense, and clerks of regional councils. Nevertheless, the project still performs uplifting music for the protesting electorate. MYTHOGENESIS 2013 MYTHOGENESIS 2013 Mythogenesis is the winter festival of land art, the only one in Ukraine. This year it will be held on February 13-18. The author of the idea and the festival permanent organizer (this fest will be held for the 8th time this year) is Oleksandr Nykytiuk, who has been a participant of the ArtPole landart program many times. The title "mythogenesis" is also the main topic to be uncovered by the artists of the fest. This time artists from Ukraine, Russia and Poland will visualize their own modern world perception on the terrains of an ancient Scythian settlement nearby Nemirov, and thereof will create the new myths. After the plain-air part of the fest these works fixed by photographers will be shown in Kyiv, Sumy, Odessa, Lviv, Zaporizhzhya, Vinnytsya and in Poland. ABSINTHE AND WEAPON OF THE PROLETARIAT ABSINTHE AND WEAPON OF THE PROLETARIAT Two outstanding events in the literary and music world happened in early October, namely the release of “Absinthe” and “Weapon of the Proletariat”. “Absinthe” is the last part of a joint project by Yuri Andrukhovych and Polish band Karbido. This is a double edition (CD+DVD) in three languages (Ukrainian, Polish and English) in an exclusive form of a book. It is an hour journey following the perversion trace of Stanislav Perfetsky that lead from Lviv to Venice. “Weapon of the Proletariat” in its turn, is the second joint album by Sergiy Zhadan and the ska band Sobaki v Kosmose from Kharkiv. From lyrical ballads and satirical compositions the collective turned to a dirtier and more dynamic sound and acutely social lyrics. Today the musicians play social disco-punk, and the heroes of new songs by S.Zh. and SVK are recognizable – representatives of Presidential Administration, members of parliament, officials from Ministry for Emergency Situations and Ministry of Defense, clerks from regional, district and town councils. In general, the project will continue performing life-asserting music for the protest electorate. The albums were presented in the frames of the project Skladanosuryadni at Arsenal Book Festival. They received a lot of positive feedback from the audience at the presentation. Have a nice listening!
