Hertz worldwide

In September of 1918, the pioneer of auto renting, Walter L. Jacobs, opened a car-rental operation in Chicago. Starting with a dozen Model T Fords, which he repaired and repainted himself, Jacobs expanded his operation to the point where, within five years, the business generated annual revenues of about $1 million.

In 1923, Jacobs sold his car-rental concern to John Hertz, President of Yellow Cab and Yellow Truck and Coach Manufacturing Company. Jacobs continued as Hertz' top operating and administrative executive.

In 1970, Hertz established its Worldwide Reservations Centre and Hertz Data Centre in Oklahoma City,.Hertz went on-line, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, all over the world.

In June 2001, Hertz launched a new level of premium car rental service with the introduction of the Hertz Prestige Collection, offering vehicles ranging from Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Audi, Infiniti, Cadillac to Volvo. Hertz Prestige Collection combines luxury vehicles with Hertz' exclusive customer services.

Today, Hertz car rental is the world's leading vehicle rental organization, which is represented in more than 150 countries and operating from 8,100 locations. Hertz offers a wide variety of current-model cars on short-term rental basis as well as long-term. Rental offices are situated at airports, in downtown and suburban business centers as well as in residential areas and resorts.

Today, Hertz Ukraine is a strongly-positioned company, expanded to 11 full-operation offices in Kyiv, Boryspil airport, Kharkiv , Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Symferopil, Sevastopol, Yalta, Zaporozhzha, Odesa and  L’viv and 50 employees. Size of the fleet of cars has tripled in the last 3 years and in June 2007 Hertz Ukraine offers wide range of more than 150 new cars from economy to prestige class.
