My name is Julia Sysoeva. I have spent tours around Donetsk and Donetsk region for eight years. My native town is Severodonetsk, Luhansk region. And since 2001 my second home is Donetsk. In 2001 I entered to the Donetsk Institute of Tourist Business, and April 3, 2003 I organized first city tour around Donetsk. That April morning of my birthday I could not dream about such wonderful gift which defined my future career. I thank my teacher and dean of the excursion business Lysenko Alyona Vasilyevna that she chose me out of hundreds of talented students of my stream for a city tour with Turkish delegation. It was supposed that I conduct a tour in Russian and interpreter translates me into Turkish. I met guests near the tourist bus, and we greeted in English. I went into the bus, took the microphone and welcomed all guests in English once again. Probably through light emotion I continued excursion in English. Frankly, I worried. After a few minutes of my speech, I stopped and looked at the group and said, "Excuse me, I should conduct tour in Russian, your translator inform you more accurate information in Turkish." My sightseers looked at me with a smile and interpreter said, "Go on, Julia, in English, the group understands you very well." I smiled and continued. Tour passed in the same breath. I was glad for impression of my tourists, their glowing eyes and a desire to return to Donetsk again. It is perfectly well to enjoy your job, give positive emotions and impressions to visitors and residents of our city! The day of my first excursion I can legally call as the day of my guide career beginning! I was always lucky with the teachers in my life. On the site I want to express my gratitude to my teachers and good friends: Sofya Alexandrovna Gitis, the head of press service of the Donetsk Regional Museum, and Elena Valentinovna Kuznetsova, the lecturer of English of Donetsk Institute of Tourist Business. Thanks to everyone who coached me the character of the winner, who said me never give up and always go forward. Of course, throughout my career, I was differently occupied: wrote students projects, worked in a travel agency and a serious manufacturing plant, and once my husband and me opened snack bar УSmachnoФ, and we sold hot dogs, hot lunches and cakes. But I always come back to excursions. It so happens that I feel Уsit too longФ and orders for tours there are still no (our city is industrial one, a business center of Eastern Ukraine, not resort), then we gather with friends and go for a walk. Such walks, I often call the "city studies". It is true the city is built every day. Every day there are new objects. I can proudly tell about them to my excursionists. I recently watched a program about travelling to Israel. I was very interested in professional experience of a guide who knows every street and house in Jerusalem, who lived there and where he moved. People all over the world address this guide to help find people and tell about significant historical facts. And now I know what to strive for my knowledge of Donetsk. It is wonderful to go along streets and know how the city breathes now and the history kept in the walls of houses 19th - early 20th century. And even better to pass on my knowledge to you, travelers! Welcome to Donetsk! You will like this city and wish to come back. We will become with you real friends. In our memory will be an hour or a day that we spent together, listening to city music, admiring its unique landscapes.
