Kernel has concentrated its farming operations in six large clusters, located in regions where the company owns silo capacity and processing plants. Kernel’s farms produce a range of crops exclusively on the basis of their commercial value and destined to be either exported by the company or processed in Kernel factories. Our farms have historically grown a crop mix producing up to one-third wheat, and from 10 to 15% each of barley, corn, soybean, rapeseed and sunflower. In 2011, the company estimates harvesting approximately 600 000 tons of grains and oil-bearing crops in aggregate on 183 000 ha of prime farm land, representing 10% of the total tonnage of agricultural products handled or processed by the company.
