About “Space of Change”   


  The “Space of Change” program was established by Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s Open Ukraine Foundation to identify, support and recognize active young people who achieve success in various fields, and propose and implement innovative and bright solutions. This year we are looking for passionate young women whose successful work is focused on the improvement of community life.  


  Participants can be nominated by a wide range of organizations from all regions of Ukraine: enterprises, NGOs, citizen unions, scientific and educational institutions, media, state and local authorities. It is also possible to apply independently. The Supervisory Board of the “Space of Change” program will select up to 30 winners under the age of 35 . Winners will demonstrate the following achievements:   


a) have demonstrated best possible results in implementing projects and innovative ideas;


b) have implemented projects that benefit local communities;


c) be willing to participate in the development and implementation of an information campaign.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROGRAM WINNERS:  


  1. Trainings  

    The Open Ukraine Foundation will organize several trainings for project participants. Rather than providing “ready-made” solutions, the Foundation will develop trainings in cooperation with prominent experts and trainers based on the assessment of participants’ needs.  


  1. Information campaign  

    The Open Ukraine Foundation will cover expenses related to for the implementation of an information campaign developed by the winners: presentations on radio or TV, press conferences, etc.  


  1. Project development and presentations to the public  

    The Supervisory Board will select promising projects addressing burning issues that propose clear strategies for solving social problems. With assistance from experts, the winners will develop recommendations for state and local authorities to promote change in public policies and benefit communities. Project information will be available on the program’s website: http://prostirzmin.org. In cooperation with its partners, the Foundation will supportan information campaign in the media about the projects.  


Project timeframe: October 2010 – August 2011. Winners will participate in the forum, three-stage trainings in Kyiv and other regions, develop and implement a joint information campaign.


The project is supported by the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues - Small Grants Initiative.
