Russia: Bratsk and Ust-Ilim mills report annual results
During 2005, Bratsk Pulp and Cardboard Mill belonging to Ilim Pulp Timber Corporation manufactured 702.4 thousand tons of products (+0.7% or 4.9 thousand tons). The mill cooked 695 thousand tons of market pulp (+0.3% or 1.8 thousand tons), the cardboard output comprised 217.5 thousand tons (+1.3% or 2.8 thousand tons). The total pulping output constituted 754.9 thousand tons (+0.3%).

Russia: All-time high results of Kotlass Mill
During 2005, Kotlass Pulp and Paper Mill belonging to Ilim Pulp Timber Corporation cooked a million and 2 tons of pulp, which constituted an upturn of 5% (47.6 thousand tons) compared with the same period a year ago. It is the highest result during its 44-year’s history and an absolute record for the pulp and paper industry of Russia.

Russia: Pulping record
In 2005 Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill cooked 826.5 thousand tons of pulp, which appeared 7.6 thousand tons more that planned. This is a record for the acting pulp lines.

Russia: Ilim Pulp plans to build a new pulp line
Kotlass Pulp and Paper Mill, Russian Karelia (belonging to Ilim Pulp), will place an order with Metso Paper for the rebuild of its sulfite pulp line, factually intending to build a new one. The total value of the project is approximately Euro 25 million and the rebuilt line will start up in April 2008, www.bumprom.ru informs. The new 900 tons per day line will become a part of program aimed at boosting fluting production at Kotlass Mill.

According to the Russian Guild of Media Publishers, the country is short of newspaper, www.gipp.ru informs. Pulp and paper mills failed with contractual deliveries for the last quarter 2005. In December, printers got the orders booked for October.

Russia: Arkhangelsk Mill announces results
In November, Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill cooked 68.3 thousand tons of pulp, which constituted a slight upturn of 0.6% compared the approved plan, the mill’s press-service informs. The mill churned out 6.8 thousand tons of paper (+1.4), 38.8 thousand tons of containerboard (+0.2%), 11.5 million sq.m. of corrugated products (+4.5%), 711.4 thousand sq.m. of fiberboard (+1.6%), 26.3 million of 12-page copybooks (+0.2%).
