Legislative initiatives adopted in late 2010 were important initial steps towards enhancing the well-being of ordinary Ukrainians. International practice shows that the smooth implementation of economic reforms requires combined efforts on the part of government, business and civil society. The Ukraine Economic Reform Fund is an international non-government, non-profit organization. The Fund’s activity focuses on supporting projects aimed at successful implementation of economic reforms and stabilization of the national economy. The Fund attracts world-class consultants and experts in order to ensure high-quality advice which will help the authorities to develop and successfully implement a series of economic reforms, integrate the experience of reforms in other countries and pave the way for continuous economic growth. The Fund involves experts whose intelligence, experience and dedicated work will build momentum to drive the economic reforms forward and will facilitate the development of national economy. The Fund’s consultants and experts cooperate closely with the government authorities as those define the priorities, substance and implementation strategy of economic reforms. Integration of Ukraine into the international markets would be an important step that will play a significant role in the scale and sustainability of Ukraine’s economic success. Also, Ukraine’s economic growth depends on the country’s attractiveness for international business and tourists. The Fund will sponsor projects aimed at improving Ukraine’s image abroad. The Fund is the result of a private initiative and is not supported by any political party. Contributions to the Fund have come from private businesses across Ukraine. Fund News October 6, 2011 Iryna Akimova: The participants of the internship in Harvard are already working on implementing reforms in Ukraine The program “Management and Leadership” took place on September 18-24, 2011. The objective was to enable the participants study public administration and improve their skills of implementing economic reforms. All in all 32 participants took advantage of the program; they were selected from the group of experts who currently advise on economic reforms, among the representatives of various government departments and ministries, as well as professionals with experience in the corporate environment. Kennedy School of Government (HKS) at Harvard University (Massachusetts, USA) on September 18-24, 2011. March 18, 2011 Ukrainian officials to be sent to Harvard Ukrainian officials will be sent to study at the best universities of the world; one of them will be Harvard, USA. January 17, 2011 CNN starts to air advertising videos about Ukraine On Monday CNN started to air two 30 second commercials about Ukraine. They will be broadcast 6 to 7 times a day on CNN and CNN International. One of the spots features Ukraine as an investment-attractive country, another promotes Ukraine as a tourist destination. Both commercials will be aired until April 2011. January 16, 2011 CNN brings its monthly i-List series to Ukraine CNN brings its monthly i-List series to Ukraine for the week of January 17th through 21st. The live coverage will be anchored from Kyiv by the CNN veteran Jim Clancy Monday through Thursday and aired in the daily primetime programme Prism.
