Fashion Lingerie House “A jour” O-la-la! - 15.09.2005
In spring 2005 popular Ukrainian publishers presented unusual news to the women of fashion: in autumn the first Ukrainian designer collection will be issued. The first in Ukraine Fashion Lingerie House "A jour" has started the deplomatic relations (by means of sighing a contract with fashion Desigher Aleksandr Vesiliev for the development of desigher lingerie colelctions) between the two worlds, untill now not crossing between each other - Ukrainian fashion design and Ukrainian lingerie undustrie.
There was an expolisive reaction of fashion beau-monde and press: the critics were in haste to express their opinion about this new project. One of the key persons of Ukrainian fashion Irina Danilevskaya, the head of organization office of pret-a-porte week "Fashion Seasons", has supported the project and confirmed that the project was unordinary. She said: "The fact, that such a project appeared, confirms, that the mass production per individual taste has come to an end. You can think, that this event opens for Ukrainian fashion lingerie a big future. No doubt, this is also a new leaf in development of Ukrainian fashion as a whole".
Trade mark "A jour" belongs to Ukrainian TPP ltd Universal company, which is in the market of Ukraine since 1997. The company is rapidly developing and nowadays it's famouse in the whole country as exclusive supplier of the goods of famouse brands. In 2004 the company has started the new direction of activity - sewing factory, in the same year the first colelction of "A jour' appeared. The factory of "A jour" is equipped with modern equipment: of the Japanese company "Juki", of the American company "Union Spesial", with the German equipment "Pfaff Mauzer Spesial" and "Pegasus". Cutting is done with the help of the automatic projection system which includes a large-format digitizer "Calcomp" and a plotter "Hewlett Packard". The staff of the factory was trained by French specialists. At the enterprise work experienced technologists, designers, well-qualified operators. The capacity of the enterprise allows the production of around 120 thousand pieces per month.
The first collections by "A jour" were stylish lingerie sets, on the basis of patterns developed by French constructors. The patters used for production today are adopted by the technologists of trade mark High quality fabrics on the basis of the Tactel and Meryl are used, laces from Noyon, Potencier and Iluna, accosories from travagliato and Arta-F, best manufactirers from France, Italy and Spain.
The reaction of the market was rapid: during the one year's exastance of the brand the high quality of production was marked by 5 prestigious awards, also awarded with the finalist's medal in the National Contest "100 best products of Ukraine" with a Quality Award "Highest Standard" and "Golden Mercury".
Creation of Fashion Lingerie House "A jour" was influenced by the situation at the Ukrainian market, the analysis of existing offers surprised even most sophisticated specialists, as an offer for the middle class was absent at the national market. No woman will deny to buy a lingerie developed by fashion designer, as they say "a signed brand". The only reason which can stop her is the price. Exactly this niche should be filled by the products of trade mark "A jour".
In April 2005 the authorities of "A jour" took a decision to creat a Fashion Lingerie House. Fashion Houses in a whole world practise such variant of cooperation with designers as inviting a famouse designer for creation a new collection. That is the variant of cooperation which Fashion Lingerie House "A jour" is planning to follow: each new collection will be developed by famouse designer. Vitaly Novitsky, the owner of Fashion Lingerie House and trade mark "A jour" described the aims of his project as follows: My aim is the lingerie with the world level of design and quality, but what is important, that a woman, who has bought our lingerie, new that, she's paid lessm than expected when entering a shop. I want to conquer a clever, beautiful and sexy woman. I don't want to conquer all"
The presentation of Fashion Lingerie House "A jour" took place on April 27th , 2005. In frame of the presentation there was signed a contract with the Designer Vasiliev for development of the first lingerie collection. This event was loudly announced, as similar cases are not typical neither for the corsetry market nor in the world of fashion. The loudness of this event was marked also by the image of designer, who is famouse for his glamour and sexy style. The active parallel work is done forming the net as the mission of "A jour" is not only to create new collections and work on the price, which make fashion lingerie effordable. It's important for women to have the possibility to buy this lingerie in their town. With this aim good conditions for Ukrainian and foreign partners of "A jour" are developed.
