Kiev International Airport Boryspil (KBP) is the main port of entry into Kiev, where all major airlines connect into Kiev from practically all European capitals as well as New York, Toronto, Middle and Far East. In order to continue their journey to other Ukrainian cities passengers frequently connect at Kiev Domestic Airport Zhulyany (IEV) as well as the Central Railway station if travelling by train.

Since many inbound flights arrive in the afternoon and considering transfer between the airports usually takes well over an hour an overnight stay is often the only option for onward journeys within Ukraine.
