Концертний тур, США, жовтень 2007
From the 15th to the 31st of October there was a charitable concert tour of the winners of International competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz in the USA.
The purpose of the arrangement was to present the competition's laureates and the competition itself. One of the aims of the International Charitable Fund of Vladimir Horowitz competition is to promote the career and the development of creative skills of the winners.
Within the concert tour the USA were visited by Wong Wai Yin, Anastasia Rizikov and Artem Kanke. It's important to emphasize that despite their young age, every performer has already won in several the most prestigious world competitions and have been repeatedly invited to participate in the most renowned festivals. It indeed confirms a uniqueness of their talants.
Wong Wai Yin (China) - I Prize - winner of the VII International competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz, Intermediate group. She chose to perform three sonatas of Cimarosa, as well as compositions of Granados, Tchaikovsky and Debussy. A combination of precision and balance with the sincere and sensitive performance made unforgettable impressions on the audience.
Anastasia Rizikov (Canada) - I Prize - winner of the VII International competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz, "Horowitz - Debut" group. She is the youngest performer. An 8-year-old Canadian played two the most difficult Etudes of Chopin. Her skills and brilliant technique attracted the audience. Like diamonds sparkled do the Chopin's Grand Waltz (E0dur, op.18) impressed. A hint of impressionism was created by the Debussy's compositions from "Children's Corner".
Artem Kanke (Ukraine) - a winner of the VII International competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz, Senior group. His program expressed the musical culture of our country the most fully. The Skoryk's "Burlesque" was performed with irony but Lysenko's "Elegy" was sounded lyrical in the pianist's performance.
Artem Kanke's choice of Liszt - Horowitz "Hungarian Rhapsody No2" to perform became an interesting moment in the concerts of the competition's winners.
During the tour participants visited 6 cities and performed in each of them a free and open for the public concert.
9 October on behalf of Kyiv Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International Program and Chicago city Kate Kheilman welcomed three prize winners to perform an open concert in the Fourth Presbyterian Church in the downtown of Chicago.
