 Useful advice
Closed Joint Stock Company "Rosava" produces tyres for passenger cars, light trucks, trucks, busus, minibuses, trolleybuses agricultural machines designed for performance in different weather conditions.

Road tread pattern consists of blocks or ribs separated by grooves; wide and deep longitudinal grooves serve for drainage of water and mud from contact area, prevent tyre from aquaplaning. Useful contact spot is enlarged for better traction with dry surface. Usage of harder rubber compound and a small quantity of lamellas make tyre more resistant to wear, while road tread pattern makes tyre efficient and less noisy. Road tread pattern tyre is designed for maintenance on roads with improved fundamental surface at above zero temperature.

All-season tread pattern is a compromise between road and winter tread pattern. It is designed for off-roads: wide longitudinal grooves, which are standard for road tread pattern, adjoin a great number of lamellas which are typical for winter tread. Tyres with all-season tread pattern have higher rolling resistance and lower wearing in comparison with road tread pattern, at the same time they have better traction performance on muddy and snowy roads.

Winter tread pattern consists of large blocks formed by variously directed grooves, split by lots of lamellas (small thin slots). Lugs of this tread pattern have sharp edges. It ensures safe traction on snowy and wet road, effective drainage of water, mud and snow from contact zone. More soft rubber compound is used for this tread pattern. Tyres with such tread pattern are designed for maintenance on snowy and icy roads, using of antiskid studs is possible.

  • After driving at long distance air pressure inside the tyre increases at average by 0,3 atm. It is recommended to wait not less than 1 hour for pressure adjusting unless tyre is cold.
  • When using all-season (M+S) tyres, increase the pressure by 0,2 atm.
  • In spare wheel it is recommended to keep air pressure 0,3 atm more than standard pressure and reduce it just before running.
  • When trailer using increase pressure in tyres of rear axle by 0,5-0,8 atm.
  • Use valve caps.

Correct pressure does not only improve performance characteristics and mileage of "Rosava" tyres, but also guarantees safe driving. That's why it is recommended to use higher pressure for heavy loading or trailer using.

 Tyre load index table

One of the "Rosava" tyre characteristics is load index. It indicates the maximum load on wheel while car running. Please notice that can be mistaken if you just divide your car weight by the number of the wheels. Not all cars have got ideal weight distribution onto axles (50:50). When your car is loaded, this factor can be aggravated even more. We advise you to choose tyres taking this information into consideration. In this case you will be sure you won't have cord separation.

When tyre replacing on your car you should take into account tyre size, ply rating and maximum permitted load (at maximum specified speed) of its original tyres mounted by the manufacturer.

Before mounting of wider tyres, make sure that they will not hit the car body arch or parts of the suspension. For better car performance you should use the tyres of the same manufacturer, model and size for all wheels.

You shouldn't use tyres of different sizes, models and tread patterns on the same car axle.

 Tyre speed index

Besides load index, maximum permitted driving speed is also an important characteristic of tyre performance. Maximum speed is indicated in literal index. Sometimes speed index is called speed category.

We would like you to pay attention to some specifications of this index understanding.

1. Speed index specifies maximum permitted speed at the indicated loading for long distance driving, that is if you drive your car at speed 210 km/h during 15 minutes, while the permitted max. speed is 190 km/h, nothing dangerous can happen. But at longer distance driving, distortion and even breaking of tyre due to overheating can occur.

2. At car loading close to maximum, standard recommendations of manufacturers can differ. It concerns, to a greater extend, truck and light truck tyres. For example, at 90% car loading speed chould not exceed 90% of maximum, at 100% - 80%. More detailed information can be found in tyre specifications.

CJSC "Rosava" manufactures tubeless tyres for passenger cars and light trucks.

Tubeless tyres have some advantages comparing to tube tyres, therefore they gradually gain the market. They have lower mass, better balance and at tyre blowout they lose air slower than tube tyres. Puncture can be sealed hermetically without removing the tyre from the wheel.

Tubeless tyre construction:

  1. tread;
  2. rubber inner liner;
  3. carcass;
  4. wheel valve;
  5. rim.
 Tyre mounting and dismounting

Usually it is necessary to dismount tyres from wheels with their further mounting when they are to be replaced for new ones or those which correspond to the conditions and season or when they are damaged. Before tyre dismounting from the rim it is necessary to mark its position concerning the wheel so that the balance at further mounting was not upset. Sometimes it is not easy to dismount tubeless tyre from the wheel. At high quality of the rubber and smooth even surface of the rim, as well as at long running it "sticks" firmly to the metal. To mount the tyre on the wheel is even more difficult. For the tyre seating the massive air supply by occupational compressor is needed. That's why it is recommended to repair tubeless tyres in the tyre repair shop. At tyre failure when driving the usage of tube is possible but only to get to the nearest tyre repair shop.

 Letter E in a circle and DOT on «Rosava» tyres

When on a tyre there is a mark in the form of letter Е in a circle it means that the tyre is certified for European market; if it is marked with DOT it is certified for American market (place of manufacturing is not important). Consequently, both marks on the same tyre mean that the tyre is certified for both markets. We advise you to buy tyres either with E mark or with double certification, that is Е and DOT together: European requirements on some specifications particularly on strength are higher than American ones.

 What for do tyres need inert gas?
Inert gas has some advantages comparing to natural air due to its chemical characteristics. These advantages are:
  1. Elimination of oxidation process of tyre steel cord and disk material.
  2. Reducing of leakage through faulty parts of a tyre and non-tight fitting on disk.
  3. Reducing of tyre wearing and provision of its even wearing.
  4. Improvement of wheel performance at higher load and temperature.
  5. Better car roadability and handling.
  6. Improvement of wheel damping and reducing of load on car suspension.
  7. Improved adhesion with road surface and shorter brake distance.
  8. Better performance when turning, overtaking and driving down roadside.
  9. Reducing of noise and vibration of the tyre contact with road surface.
