History
1990
- The State Bank of the USSR registered Commercial Innovation Bank Kharkovincombank.
1991
- Shareholders rename the Bank into Joint Stock Commercial Innovations Bank Kharkovincombank.
- The Bank is registered with the National Bank of Ukraine.
1992
- The Bank joined Ukrainian Siberian Corporation UkrSibinkor.
- JSIB Kharkovincombank changed its name to JSCIB UkrSibbank.
- The Bank obtained the NBU license to perform forex transactions.
- First correspondent account in foreign currency opened with Scalbert Dupont bank (Lilles, France).
- JSCIB UkrSibbank started working with individual clients.
1994
- Client-Bank automated banking system implemented.
- The Bank joined the Association of Ukrainian Banks.
- The Bank signed an agent agreement with American Express for the sale of traveller’s cheques.
1995
- The Bank joined SWIFT.
- The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine granted the Bank a permit to issue and trade in securities.
1996
- New shareholders joined the Bank.
- The Bank’s statutory capital increased to UAH 90 million.
- The Bank opened its branches in Cherkassy, Severodonetsk and Zhitomir.
- Reuters’s system implemented.
- The Bank received a license to operate in international forex markets.
1997
- The Bank opened a branch in Kiev.
- The first year of cooperation with an international firm LLC Audit Firm PricwaterhouseCoopers (Audit). The Bank underwent its first international audit.
- The Bank became a distributor of American Express cards.
1998
- The Bank joined Over the Counter Stock Trade System (now First Stock Trade System – PFTS).
- The Bank obtained a permit to maintain the register of owners of registered securities and be engaged in depository activities from the State Commission for Securities and Stock Market.
- The Bank started providing cash services to municipal budgets.
1999
- Bank branches opened in Poltava, Sevastopol, Odessa, Krivoi Rog and an outlet opened in Dneprodzerzhinsk.
- The Bank joined Kharkov Bank Union.
- The Bank is awarded the Gold Medal of the Association of Assistance to Industry (Societe d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale, France) for dynamics in development and commercial projects implementation.
2000
- Bank branches opened in Nikolaev, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk and Mariupol and a General representative office opened in Kiev.
- The Bank joined Europay payment system.
- Implementation of GEO card project commenced and the Bank started working in Western Union system.
2001
- The Bank’s assets exceeded UAH 1 billion.
- Issue of MasterCard cards started. The Bank joined the Ukrainian Interbank Association of Europay International members «ÅÌÀ».
- The Bank opened a branch in Lvov.
- The Bank started the implementation of a project aimed at the creation of a unified outlets network in Ukraine.
- Implementation of Telephone-Bank and Internet Banking projects commenced.
- A complex program of “package services” offered to corporate clients.
- Corporate bonds of CJSC KievStar GSM were successfully placed.
- Payments of compensations to Nazi victims commenced. The Bank received the right to perform functions related to the payment of pensions and pecuniary aid.
2002
- The Bank opened branches in Zaporozhie, Kirovograd, Vinnitsa, Kherson, Sumy and Rovno.
- 50 thousand GEO cards issued.
- Implementation of joint projects with main car dealers of Ukraine.
- Long-term crediting program for Ukrainian enterprises launched.
- Special program for the retired with new bank service terms launched.
- New remote service technologies implemented for clients (a self-service bank terminal).
- The Bank started operations in the ANELIK system of fast money transfers.
- Execution of plastic cards for clients through the corporate web-site commenced.
- Major projects of placement of UAH 100 million worth of Ukrainian corporate bonds were implemented (including bonds of state owned JSC Titan, Borispol International Airport and ZAO Sarmat).
- Further work was performed in respect of servicing corporate bonds issued by CJSC KievStar GSM in 2001.
2003
- The Head Office of the Bank moved to Kiev.
- The Bank’s statutory capital increased to UAH 210 million.
- Principal membership in Visa International Payment System.
- The Bank joined National Public Organisation The Association of Taxpayers of Ukraine.
- A number of salary projects were implemented on the basis of ÌàsterCard Int. cards, with overdraft facilities for card holders.
- Retail crediting program was developed intensively.
- The loan portfolio exceeded USD 200 million according to the 3rd quarter results.
- Crimean Regional representative office in Simferopol was opened followed by a branch in Chernigov.
- VIP Club program was launched.

- The Bank remained a leader in the corporate bond market: its services in this area included issue and servicing corporate bonds of CJSC KievStar GSM (second issue), Borispol International Airport (second issue), Konti Invest, a subsidiary of CJSC Kiev Konti, SAM Travel Company, DK Ukrtransgaz, LLC UkrSib-Finans, OJSC Azot, Kiev Municipal Administration, ZAO Sarmat and LLC AVK Concern.
2004
- The Bank’s statutory capital increased to UAH 600 million.
- Term deposits of individuals exceeded UAH 1 billion.
- 250 thousand payment cards issued.
- Commencement of VISA INSTANT ISSUE
- A Mortgage Centre of JSCIB UkrSibbank opened.
- The Bank obtained the NBU license to perform transactions with Ukraine’s Eurobonds.
- The Bank issued and successfully placed its Eurobonds.
- Moody‘s Investor Service assigned long-term credit rating of B2/NP and financial strength rating of E+.
- Cbonds International Information Agency announced JSCIB UkrSibbank the Best Investment Bank of Ukraine following 2003 results.
- UkrSibbank was recognized the largest securities trader in PFTS in 2004 according to the Top 100. Best Financial Companies in Ukraine.
2005
- JSCIB UkrSibbank entered the bank services market of the Russian Federation.
- Mortgage Centres of JSCIB UkrSibbank opened in Donetsk and Lvov.
- UkrSibbank opened its 600th outlet.
- General shareholders’ meeting of JSCIB UkrSibbank decided to increase the Bank’s statutory capital by UAH 150 million, to UAH 750 million.
- The Bank ranked fourth among custodians and first among custodian banks according to the Top 100. Best Financial Companies in Ukraine.
- UkrSibbank received a syndicated loan of USD 37 million.
- JSCIB UkrSibbank placed USD 125 million worth of Eurobonds with coupon rate of 8.95% p.a. and maturity of 3 years. Lead managers of the issue were investment banks Deutsche Bank AG London Branch and UBS Limited.
2006
- General Shareholders Meeting of JSCIB UkrSibbank resolved to increase the number of the Bank’s Supervisory Council members.
- BNP Paribas completed acquisition of 51% of UkrSibbank stock. Former shareholders retain 49% of stock.
- Moody’s increased ratings of UkrSibbank Eurobonds to Âà2 and assigned ratings Âàà1 and Ðrime-2 with respect to deposits in the national currency.
- Financial result of the Bank for the first half of 2006 amounted to UAH 20 mln.
- UkrSibbank celebrated 16 years of successful activities on the financial market of Ukraine.
- The National Bank of Ukraine has registered increase in JSCIB UkrSibbank authorized capital by UAH 500 mln, which now amounts to UAH 1,25 bln.
- UkrSibbank and BNP Par³bas open in Ukraine the first Òrade Center – a joint project on trade finance development.
- New structural unit - Consumer Lending Department (Cetelem) - started to operate in the Bank.
- New office of Dnieper Regional Department of JSCIB UkrSibbank was opened in Dnepropetrovsk.
- Credit portfolio of UkrSibbank SMEs business exceeded USD 500 mln.
- «Hot line» for entrepreneurs started to operate at the Bank.
