Aratta is a legendary ancient country, the predecessor of modern Ukraine. It was founded in the 6-th millennium B.C. on the banks of the Danube, and it later moved to the Dniper river, where it is known as Trypilska culture.
Ancient Ukraine was named Sun-like Aratta. The sun was the symbol of the Sole Life-giving and Light-giving God, the Supreme Lord of all the Heaven and Earth forces. The name Aratta means "the land under the Sun".
In Shumer epos Aratta was described as the country that harmoniously combined high spirituality and nobleness of people with the highly developed culture. In ancient legends very rich Aratta became an epithet of a well-being and glory. Very beautiful and valuable goods were made by skilled craftsmen of the Sun-like Aratta, which was rich in precious metals and gems.
Inspired by the heritage of the talented and skilled people of the ancient Ukrainian land, the Aratta Design Gallery continues creating beauty in the modern world. In our corporate identity we use ornaments and elements borrowed from Trypil patterns. The first page of the site represents an ancient calendar. Flash element in the right bottom corner of the site is the symbol of eternal movement.
