Oksana Strashna, Partner

In 2007, Ms. Strashna led the exit of Shostka City Milk Factory via a trade sale to an international strategic player, securing in excess of 5.9 cash on cash return for EEGF. Since closing the deal in 2005, she served on the Board of the company for two years providing strategic oversight and guiding the company’s transformation into a branded national market leader. In 2008 Horizon Capital received 2008 Central & Eastern Europe Unquote Private Equity Award for the CIS Deal of the Year for 2007 Shostka City Milk Plant exit to Bel Fromageries as a recognition of tangible and measurable success within the industry sector.
Prior to that, Ms. Strashna led WNISEF’s investment into the fast-paced financial services niche by managing the establishment of portfolio company International Mortgage Bank (IMB). Ms. Strashna’s efforts included recruiting the core management team, overseeing registration and licensing, and managing relationships with follow-on financiers. As a result of these efforts, in 2005 IMB attracted $30 million in long-term debt from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).
A native Ukrainian, Ms. Strashna received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in 1996. In 2001 she became one of the first Ukrainians to earn a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Ms. Strashna is a regional representative of CluMBA, a professional association of MBAs in Ukraine.
