OPPORTUNITES

Keen interest of Russian investment and development companies in the intensively developing real estate market of Ukraine, the Crimea in particular, suggested an idea of holding such workshop in Russia.

The lion’s share (amounting to 35.4%, more than $260 mln.) of the direct foreign investments in the development of the economy of the Crimea belongs for the past ten years to Russia.  However, despite the optimistic forecast of the sector development, there are a lot of issues that demand constant attention and prompt solving.  Stable legislation situation and competent legal grounds for business operation in another jurisdiction constitute a vital part of its success.  But the issues connected with acquisition and sale of non-resident’s rights on land plots and other fixed assets in Ukraine are of a special character, from a legal point of view, because of the ever changing legislation that is often inconsistent and unpredictable. That is the restraining force of the development of the foreign business in Ukraine, the Crimea in particular.
