Music Review: Musical mastery Cardinal Courier NY This album picks up right where Bloodbath left off with their last EP Unblessing the Purity and it continues with the same high tempo mix of classic death metal. Lyrically the album brings an anti-religious theme something they’ve touched upon in their past few releases. While religion (or lack thereof) is usually set aside for black metalers it’s not uncommon to see black metal mixed with death metal. The searing “At the Behest of their Death” begins the album with pummeling blast beats that compliment vicious guitar work and Mikael Akerfeldt’s throaty vocals. From there the pace doesn’t let up.
