KYIV.FINE ART On 1 February a big party went down at what’s arguably Kyiv’s most glamourous art gallery as TV host and socialite Katya Osadcha launched the website that will accompany her TV show about the local social scene. The party featured some of the funniest, and most embarrassing, paparazzi shots of local celebrities, printed and hung up there on the wall for all to see. Great art this stuff is not, but it was fun for the celebs to see themselves looking silly. The party gathered a lively crowd, with the event looking more like a restaurant bash then a high-toned cultural evening.

A Innovative New Year’s Eve with SE:SA
SE:SA in concert, Barsky club (5 Chervonoarmiyska), 31 December at 23.00
SE:SA, with their unusual name, is a side-project out of the Syke’n’Sugarstarr camp, headed by the producer-honcho Serhat Sakin. But – SE:SA is not only a studio-project. They’re also touring the club scene worldwide as a DJ duo. And their most appealing aspect is just how fresh they sound while DJ’ing, which, as anyone who has seen them on the decks will know, is as diverse and experimental as their studio work. The best way to describe them would probably be as musical pioneers, which, in this age of copyists and covers merchants, is exactly what the world needs right now.
