TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

in AUTOGRAPH fashion clothes contest

1.     Aims of the contest to demonstrate the art of fashion designers in connection with the newest fashion tendencies and modern technologies, promotion of new trade marks and works of individual designers, presenting the modern achievements of domestic designers for establishing and improving mutually beneficial contacts to wide auditory, specialists, mass media

There are 3 categories of designers who are taking part in contest:

Category 1 - individual designers of clothes, self practicing designers, sewing and light industry companies designers, graduate students (more than 1 year),

Category 2 - young designers (students of institutions of higher education and graduate students (under 1 year)

Category 3 - Juniors (atelier and fashion schools high school students, under 17).

2. Deadline for putting in an application – before 14.08.2008.

3. The contest has the following nominations:

Neo ( Pret-a-porte collection of women/ men/ children's clothes from 3 till 5 items)

Neo - Junior (Pret-a-porte collection of women/ men/ children's clothes from 3 till 7 items)

Fantasy (one dress)

4. All collections and sets participating in the contest should be made of high quality fabrics (it's possible with special effects) and additional accessories.

5. The contest in each nomination will be held only on the condition of the presence of more than 5 applications.

6. The price of participation in contest, by nominations: Fantasy (one dress)                  - 70 Euro *

Neo (dress collection)                - 90 Euro*

Neo-junior (dress collection)      - 70 Euro*

 The price of show includes:

- models, producer services, sound and light equipment;

- Hairdressers' and visagistes' services;

 - insertion of the information about contest participant in the official catalogue of KYIV FASHION festival (address, phone numbers, short information on Ukrainian and English languages), in the condition of its presentation by 03.08.2008 via e-mail.

7. The participant have a right to take part in one or several nominations. The number of presented works is unlimited.

8. The set or collection that has got the maximum amount of points become the winners of nomination and get Golden award of the contest.

9. Procedure of the best collections selection.

The order of each participant entry will be determined by preliminary sortition on the 13th of September 2008.

The demonstration of presented works on the podium will be held on 14.09.2008 from 11.00 till 15.00. Before the demonstration on the podium on 14.09.2007 in 11.00 all the contest works will be evaluated by jury according to the following criteria: quality and execution skill without fashion show (on hangers). 

All works presented at the contest have to be accompanied with short characteristics (author, year, set idea and image description, fabrics and materials that were used during creation of the clothes) in written form.

The evaluation of presented collections and sets will be executed by 5-point system, according to the following criteria:

-        artistic expressiveness (image integrity and accessories, the power of emotional influence, creative image individuality and irregularity);

-        Accordance to the theme (name originality, idea novelty, reasoning from put conceptual conditions of the chosen nomination, accordance to the declared image);

-        Quality and mastery of the performance (textile and fabric selection; structural  decision and technological assemblage novelty)

-        style (style commonality, novelty of the  color combination and  plastic judgment of suit, accessories and supplements, make-up, hair style, musical illustration)

10. The total result is determined be estimating the sum of the points that were received by each criteria.

                               The decision of jury is confidential and is not subject to change. The representative of the commission is not obliged to explain the reason of the decision of the jury.

 11.   The winners of the contest have a right to use awards in advertising purpose.
