Yavorivskyi: PR bluffing, promising to give Russian language state status
The Party of Regions remembers about the language issue only before the elections, but after elections PR forgets about it.
MP from the BYuT faction Volodymyr Yavorivskyi told the IMC, commenting on the results of the social survey that indicates that 54.6% of Ukrainians appreciated the initiative of the PR to give the Russian language the status of the second state language.
According to him, the PR will not manage to do it. "This is not their political program, but just anti-Ukrainian adventure," he said.
He noted that the Ukrainian language is more exposed to threats than the Russian one.
"Those people who support the Ukrainian language will never allow the Russian language to get the status of the second state language. It is not easy to do so," Yavorivskyi said.
He noted that he does not see real possibility to do it in the parliament. "The Party of Regions will never have 300 votes in order to change the Constitution," he said.
"All this is bluff," he summed up.
