Yuriy Pavlenko:To make accusers and return home would be the most appropriate for Taiwanese company
The Taiwanese company doesn't have prospects to win a case against the Ministry for Family, Youth and Sport. We have stated officially that we stop negotiations with them
In spite of all problems which face Ukraine in the organization of Euro-2012, Yuriy Pavlenko, Minister for Family, Youth and Sport radiates optimism. He doesn't afraid that Taiwanese company Archasia Design Group Limited has filed a suit against his ministry, as it considers itself the only one legitimate winner of the contest on the Olimpiyskyi National Sports Complex reconstruction
In an interview with the IMC Yuriy Pavlenko told about chances of the Taiwanese company to gain a suit against the Ministry
- The Taiwanese company Archasia Design Group Limited filed a suit against your Ministry, demanding to renew negotiations on Olimpiyskyi National Sports Complex reconstruction. How will you comment on this situation?
The Taiwanese company doesn't have prospects to win a case against the Ministry for Family, Youth and Sport. We have stated officially that we stop negotiations with them. Those documents which were performed to the Taiwanese company were recognized by the decision of the temporary commission as unauthorized, unofficial and they don't give the right to work on the territory of Ukraine.
The Taiwanese company during negotiations couldn't confirm its possibility to reconstruct Olimpiyskyi National Sports Complex in correspondence with the requirements and terms affirmed by the UEFA. There were also instructions and protest of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine that special committee didn't have the right to determine the Taiwanese company as a winner because their documents didn't correspond to the legislation of Ukraine.
That's why we decided to stop negotiations with this company.
- In foreign mass media the information that Ukraine may be deprived of the right to hold Football Championship of Europe 2012 has appeared recently. How seriously should we attitude towards such rumors?
- There are no reasons to deprive Ukraine and Poland of the right to hold Euro-2012. I think this is just a desire of some our opponents to stir up this situation. At the same time the country faces many tasks which should be fulfilled. It is necessary to do everything necessary now, starting from sport and finishing with transport and hotel infrastructures, for normal Championship holding. I think these are just talks which are not corroborated by facts.
