Oleksandr Tarasovych Lytvyn was born in Kyiv to Taras and Hanna Lytvyn on August 8, 1969.
Since childhood, Oleksandr Lytvyn has loved sports. Having begun his schooling in a standard public school, he eventually transferred to a specialized sports school. Upon graduation, he decided to dedicate himself to sports and enrolled in the Kyiv State Institute of Physical Education. After graduating he was called up for army service.
After this, he began the search for who he really was. His inquisitive mind sought new horizons. And so he chose the hotel industry. Now life became both complicated and interesting. In addition to working in the hotel, Mr. Lytvyn perfected his formal knowledge at the Kyiv Institute of Tourism, Economics and Law with a major in Organizational Management.
Having begun his professional career with the Economic Oversight Service of the Hotel Ukraina —now the Premier Palace Hotel—, he moved up the ladder to become General Director of Ukraine’s finest hotel.
Mr. Lytvyn now began to find investors to develop the Hotel’s infrastructure further, quickly reacting to changes in the business climate in Ukraine.
Having unique experience managing the country’s only 5-star hotel, he continually studies and applies best practice in the international hotel industry. In 2004, Mr. Lytvyn became the president Ukraine’s first and only hotel chain, Premier Hotels, which includes the best hotels in Ukraine: Oreanda, Londonskaya, Cosmopolite, Star, and, of course, Premier Palace.
Under Oleksandr Lytvyn’s leadership as General Manager, the Premier Palace has progressed from 3-star to 5-star status and has won many prestigious competitions.
In 2004, the Premier Palace won the Golden Trademark Award and received the International Olymp Award for its "high level of professionalism" and "significant contribution to building an international image for Ukraine."
In 2005, the Premier Palace Hotel earned the Hospitality Excellence Award. It also took first place in the national Ukrainian Tourism 2005 survey, as “Best Hotel and Tourism Complex” in a rating by the Ukrainian press.
In 2006, the Premier Palace Hotel received a number of awards in recognition of its excellence: 2006 Leader of the Kyiv Tourism Industry, Best Hotel of 2006, a Certificate for its considerable contribution to the development of the hotel business in Kyiv and for providing the highest quality services to the guests of Ukraine’s capital, and Best Hotel in Kyiv 2006 according to a readers’ poll taken by the Kyiv Post, Ukraine’s #1 English-language newspaper.
In 2007, Premier Palace Hotel came first in a national survey called “Ukraine’s Tourism Industry as seen by the Ukrainian press 2007,” was nominated “Best Hotel in Kyiv 2007” by the readers of the English-language paper Kyiv Post, and was named “Leader in Ukrainian Hospitality” by the Ukrainian Travel Awards project.
In addition to his professional work, Mr. Lytvyn is very active in social and charitable events in Kyiv and throughout Ukraine. This includes participating in sponsorship programs and helping medical facilities for the treatment of children.
He has made a significant contribution toward promoting Ukraine in the world through active participation in the Association of Hotel Groups and Hotels of Ukraine. That group’s goal is the development of the hospitality industry in Ukraine. Mr. Lytvyn’s personal achievements in developing the hotel business in Ukraine and his contribution to the promotion of social responsibility have been recognized with awards on more than one occasion.
Oleksandr Lytvyn is firmly convinced that the business reputation and national significance of the Premier Palace over the years is the result of the solid performance and contribution of the Hotel’s team of professionals. The most important measure of the Hotel’s success is its guests and the notes of appreciation that they leave in the Hotel’s Guest Book.
