Strategy concept
of IPO “Internews-Ukraine”
(IUA) activities
for 2006-2008
For the last two years the status and the role of NGOs and media in Ukraine have been considerably changed, it was caused by the events in social, economical and political spheres of the country. Thus, the mission and the strategic activities of IPO Internews Ukraine had to be reviewed with the setting of new goals and priorities which could strengthen the ability of the Ukraine’s civil society to be the active participant of the projects aiming at European integration.
The mission of IPO Internews Ukraine - Åstablishment of European values in UA through strengthening of successful Media
The successful Media for IUA are the companies having the following characteristics:
§ their activities are financially successful and transparent;
§ they are politically non-partisan;
§ they contribute to the establishment of ethic norms and high professional standards of journalism as well as to the roduction and use of national media product.
IUA stands for the following understanding of the cultural and civilizational progress of the mankind: different cultures of the world and principles of the public governing can be united into two great civilizational models: European (Anglo-Saxon model spread both on the European continent and in the majority of the countries of the American continent) and Asiatic.
IUA professes such European values as democratic governance, transparency of the governmental decisions, liberalism in economy, the social responsibility of business, freedom of speech and expression, rule of law, freedom of the individual, public liberties.
IPO “Internews Ukraine” as the organization that provides support to the development of media companies and its management will implement this mission through the implementation of the projects in the following spheres:
§ Formation of the consulting and analytical office aimed at motoring, analyzing and further informing of the Ukrainian society and international community about the development of the media sphere of the country and about the contribution to the development of transparent and democratic conditions of the media existence;
§ Implementation of the innovative projects and assistance in preparing and distributing of the information products aimed at the formation of the media and advertising environment favorable for the socially responsible business in the country;
§ Representation and protection of interests of media in Ukrainian and foreign institutions.
§ Contribution to the rise of the consequence of the public values in the country and balanced highlighting of the socially important questions in the national media sphere;
§ Contribution to the formation of the favorable environment in the media sphere and creation of the conditions for free and fair competition at the media market;
§ Development of the modern information and communication technologies through the implementation of the educational programs for the representatives of media market and formation of the network of the distance learning centers for the contribution to the free information access.
