The Embassy of God’s News from Missions in November, 2006

Between October 23rd and November 5th, the Preparatory School for Pastors at the Missionary Center of the Embassy of God has had 83 students successfully complete the study program for graduation. This means that in the coming year more than 80 churches of the Embassy of God will be started on this earth! We congratulate all students which have completed course studies, and graduated from the school this year!

Why did I become a missionary?

Students of the Preparatory School for Pastors were asked about their reason to become a missionary. We would like you to read answers of some students.

Boris Koval, Kyiv
“I want to be a missionary of God, not because gypsies are nomad nation! Recently my Pastor Viacheslav Dmitriev was in Rostov-na-Donu city, Russia. It was a missionary trip. There I saw a big need. People need God and church so much!  People, whom we served, asked us to stay with them… and now, the thirsty call me to this place.  But this is not the only reason that inspired me to make this decision. I am just so very thankful to God!  He gave salvation to my son, my family and my relatives.  I want to serve such a God”.

Polosmak Anatoliy and Tatyana, Konotop. Sumy Oblast
“I was an alcoholic for 30 years. The last 8 years I had epilepsy. God freed me from this sickness, from this slavery. He gave me a beautiful wife. Now this is the time to be a worker for Christ.  We believe that God blessed our decision to stay as a missionaries in Lebedin city, Sumy Oblast.

Ostapenko Ruslan, Shostka city, Sumy Oblast.
“In principle, I am a missionary already.  I serve as a Pastor in Shostka city. I am a student of this school because I need greater knowledge.  My Pastor said to me to come to this town, so by this way I came from Shostka.  I was simply obedient to my Pastor.  I believed him. If God calls, why should I test myself? We should just do what God wants from us”.

“We believe that God calls us to open an old people’s home. There were these kind of homes in Belarus, but without God’s love. The first covenant says: “Honor your father and your mother”. To honor means to love. In our old people’s home all people are occupied by good care and love.”

II. Many people ask: “How do I find God?” or “Where do I find God?” These are good questions, with the right desire. God, by Himself, speaks to our hearts through words: “Seek God”.  God loves everyone and wants to help, and to console us; to solve dilemmas and to heal us. His desire is to be in close presence with us forever, not only for one moment. His desire is to be shown with all His power, glory and love through us. People call His name and He comes. But how should we hold God in our lives? This is God’s answer! He promises, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Math.28:20b).But He commands with these words, for those who are in agreement, “to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Math.28:19,20a)

Of course, God has everything for us, and we can obtain many “things”: health, success, happy life, family, flat, and etc…

Yet, God says in Matthew 6:33:  “…seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”  Colossians 3:1: “…seek those things which are above…”

God receives everyone, and every person is able to obtain much through seeking after God. But God warns us about this: we should be good stewards of what we have (God, calling). Otherwise, things that we think we should have, will be taken away.

How should we find and keep God? It is very simple.

God says that it is easy to find Him in these places:  where there are poor and hungry, sorrowful and depressed people. It is easy to find Him in places where anyone is in prison, or without parents. God goes there, because the weeping, crying and moaning are from these places.

God is likewise, always with the people who go there, too. God always searches to find Himself those people, who want to serve Him as His messenger. To be His messenger means to be those who submit to, and are in agreement with God; who will teach thirsty people how to find God and never return outside His protection.
Also, to be with God does not mean to find only comfort and enjoyment. First of all, it is a work, and it is serving others.  Through these means do we find even more comfort and enjoyment.  
What kind of God He is!  And such are the true people of Christ.
God be with you always, to the very end of the age. Amen!
