History of development of the airport Donetsk originates from the decision of Stalin city council from 7/27/1931.
This decision it was entrusted to land council and a department of municipal economy to find territory for construction of air station of civil aviation in a Stalino.
In 1933 the airport Donetsk has been established .
On June, 23rd, 1941 Advice of national commissioners of the USSR has approved "Regulations about Central administrative board
CAF (Civil Air Fleet) on a wartime ".
All staff CAF was considered drafted in Red Army. Flight staff was a part of 87-th Guards independent Stalin regiment of civil aviation.
After clearing Donbass in 1944 the airport has begun work on performance of aviatransportations of passengers, cargoes and for avia-chemical works.
The rapid stage of development of an aviation enterprise is account for the end 60-th, the beginning 70-th, when there has been begun operation of planes AN-24, AN-10, IL-18.
Air crews of the flying detachment PANH, in perfection having mastered application of planes AN-2 on avia-chemical works in Donetsk region, annually sent to the help
to agricultural areas of Central Asia, Germany, etc. where they rendered greater help to an agriculture.
In 1982 by the Donetsk aviation enterprise
there is begun flying operation of planes of 3-rd generation YAK-42 which have been successfully mastered with flying and engineering
and technicians staff.
Since 1983 pilots have begun performance of the international aviatransportations on this type of planes by the first in the USSR.
The flying and engineering and technicians staff transferred the wide experience of operation of aircraft YAK-42 to experts of the Lvov, Simferopol, Dnepropetrovsk aviation enterprises
and the Lithuanian, Uzbek and Turkmen pilots, begun at that time operation of planes of 3-rd generation.
In 1988-89 The flying and engineering and technicians staff of an aviation enterprise taken active part in granting the help to victim in Spitak earthquake,
for what especially differed workers were rewarded with the Sign " The Excellent pupil of Aeroflot " and diplomas of the Ministry of civil aviation.
10/11/1991 the Donetsk united squadron is renamed into the Donetsk aviation enterprise.
In 1992 on the basis of an aviation enterprise by forces of the prepared technical staff there has been begun repair of planes YAK-42 flown 10.000 flight hours,
as aircraft factories were not ready to performance of such kind of repair. Repair was carried out to base planes YAK-42 and to planes belonged other airlines (Vilnius, Krasnodar, Ulyanovsk).
Since 1993, crews of an aviation enterprise have begun intensive mastering of the international airlines with the aircraft YAK-42. For 10 years air lines more than in 40
countries are laid.
2/25/1998 the Donetsk aviation enterprise is renamed into Donetsk state airline
"Donbass-East airlines of Ukraine ".
In 1999 for high production activities and a safety of flights the airline " Donbass " was rewarded the diploma of the Ministry of transport of Ukraine.
For the powerful contribution to development of civil aviation of Ukraine to nine workers of airline the rank of " The Honoured Worker of transport of Ukraine " is confered.
In 2002 the airline has won first place in regional competition on maintenance of a labour safety of workers of airline.
In 2003 there was a reorganization of an aviation enterprise by division of the airport and airline and the Municipal enterprise " the International airport Donetsk " is formed.
