Who are Greens?

To raise people’s awareness of environmental issues is one of the Greens’ main goals.

Greens, as their name indicates, advocate green politics. Green politics or Green ideology is the ideology of the Green Parties approved by time and based on the following principles:
• realization and protection the necessity of harmonizing a human civilization and environment interaction;
• antimilitarism and nonviolence;
• public life humanization;
• social justice;
• human rights respect independently of a person’s birth and his/her social status;
• sustainability

Guided by principle "think globally, operate locally" Green party stands for an open, jural society and efficient civil control over authority. The State should be for a person, not a person - for the State.

The Greens are for strengthening principles of multi-party system and parliamentarism. They oppose authoritarian and totalitarian tendencies in state authorities’ activity. The Greens advocate for complete equality of rights for women and children.

Private property is the ground for democracy, basis for economic progress and citizens’ social protection. The State is to be the guarantor of people rights. The Greens are for realizing the European Charter of Local Self-governments and implementing principles stipulated in the European Charter of Cities and the European Declaration of the Human Rights in cities.

The Greens consider as necessary to create the appropriate conditions for active involving public organizations into solving socially important tasks. They stand for strategy of active neutrality in the field of international relations. The Greens are against any alliance with military blocks. They are for phased army professionalism.

The Greens protect evolution of social development; oppose dictatorship and violence in any forms. The Greens declare that the major task for all leading political forces is to carry out reforms in a society based on a national consensus. The principle “to achieve a purpose by all means” is unacceptable for the Greens.

The human impact on environment caused formation of so-called “ecological imperative “in the second half of XX century. Mankind has to coordinate its economic needs and environmental issues. Ukrainian Greens declare: “Only what is environmentally appropriate is economically profitable”.
Environmental safety is the main component of national safety: to environmental safety through the economic and juridical influence mechanisms.

Development of Ukraine as a unitary, neutral, jural state with high standards of lives is the main task for Ukrainian Greens.
