Research Center of Donbass Social Perspectives (RCDSP)

It is the public organization uniting Donbass journalists of Donetsk and Donetsk oblast with the purpose of protection of their members' professional and civil rights, facilitation of liberty of speech in Donbass.

The Center began its work in August 2002. The Center's President is Sergey Garmash, 'Radio of Liberty" correspondent in Donetsk oblast, author of publications in "Zerkalo Nedeli" ("Week's Mirror"), "Ukrayinska Pravda" ("Ukrainian Truth") and others.

At the moment of RCDSP registration, the Center united 12 journalists working in Donetsk and Donetsk oblast, In November 2002, due to Center's members efforts, the RCDSP "OSTROV" site was created in the Internet, which, actually, has become the first in Donbass Internet-project characterized with socio-political orientation.

The project is supported by the Center members means thanks to grants of charity organizations and support of private persons interested in de-monopolizing and democratization of Donetsk mass media.
