Giedrius Butvilas, 34, Lithuanian.
Trained as the Mathematician in Vilnius University and later has finished marketing in International Business School in Vilnius.
Giedrius already have 12 years experience in communication business. He started his career as assistant of media planner in local media agency Media House and very quickly has shown his skills and sense in communicating  brands with consumers. Therefore during 2 years he past all positions of media agency and was promoted for Regional Account Director. Throughout next 2 years his major clients were – Kraft Foods (coordination of Baltics, Belarusia and Kaliningrad), Wrigley, Beiersdorf.
He was recognized for his success and in November 1998 was hired by VIA Media (in ass. With Initiative Media) as Managing Director for Lithuania. At 25 years old, Giedrius was one of the youngest leaders on the Baltic media scene at that time.
During his 9 years with VIA Media, Giedrius has significantly increased the efficiency of the agency and lead VIA Media to the first position in Lithuania. After he has joined VIA Media – agency always takes a leading position in the market and ranks among Top3 and in 2002 VIA Media has been re-branded to Initiative/VIA and successfully represents one of the biggest international networks - Initiative. With his leadership Initiative/VIA has implemented a lot of unique projects (i.e. Radar research, which still exist only in a few CEE countries) and introduced innovations in communication planning and media scene.
Giedrius always is open to share his experience and time to time he gives lectures for students in Universities and for marketing people in various consultancy companies.
