Alpha Wood started year 2001 by a few people in Sweden and Greece with the idea to export sawn timber from eastern countries to more developed European countries in the west. After much research and traveling the choice came to start the business in Ukraine. Alpha Wood began to buy sawn timber from different saw mills around the western part of Ukraine and then export it to Greece. This made us at Alpha Wood aware of how Ukrainian companies and people work, both socially and officially. With this information and more experience of the business itself, the choice came to build our own saw mill year 2003. To invest, build and become a working saw mill in a foreign country took nearly two years to accomplish. In the beginning of 2005 the first export was made from our own factory. After the start we have done exports to Poland, Greece and Sweden with sawn timber.
