Äèòÿ÷à ë³êàðíÿ ìàéáóòíüîãî: Structure of the Hospital

The Hospital’s Structure

Hardly any child wants to stay at a hospital. However, we want to make the conditions at our new hospital as comfortable as possible, creating a favorable psychological climate.

In search for a most acceptable project and best structural, logistic, and technological decisions for the future center, representatives of the Ukraine 3000 International Charitable Fund had been visiting best children’s clinics in the US and Europe during the last six months. They have visited dozens of world’s best children’s medicine centers, in part, the Comer Children's Hospital (Chicago), Children's Hospital & Regional Medical Center (Seattle), Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (Stanford), familiarizing themselves with their structure and functioning.

As a result of this research, a structure of the Children’s Hospital of the Future was finalized.

The Centre will include:

    • Perinathal Unit – 80 beds;

    • Oncology Unit – 40 beds;
    • Surgery Unit – 30 beds;
    • Pediatrics Unit – 30 beds;
    • Intensive Care Unit– 20 beds.

  6. Dormitory for medical personnel with a number of suites for visiting lectors or professors.
  7. Service complex with autonomous generator, workshops, storehouses, laundry, central autoclave room, drugstore with facilities for storing and distributing specialties, and a nutrition unit.

A new in Ukraine management system will be introduced at the Center. General guidance will be performed by a Supervisory Committee, to whom the Board of Directors and committees will answer. Committees working at the hospitals will be the following: Ethics, Science and Research, Planning, Education, and Finance.

The Children’s Hospital of the Future will be Ukraine’s first facility rendering high-tech medical assistance. Besides, a new approach to the conditions for patients’ and their parents’ stay at the hospital will be implemented.
