Only a little bit over 300 live now in the 30 km exclusion zone - most of them old seniors. The state provides them with electricity, mail and pension delivery, transportation to the church in Chernobyl on holidays and a doctor visit once a week. Usually they are glad to see visitors. It would be a good idea to bring fresh bread and some groceries when you go see the "re-settlers" as a "shop on the wheels" come here once week.
