BYT deputy leader says new date of elections to be announced on Wednesday

Kyiv, May 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - BYT deputy leader Oleksandr Turchynov, a member of the working group on early elections to the parliament, said on Tuesday that President Viktor Yuschenko and Premier Viktor Yanukovych will meet on Wednesday to consider the results achieved by the group and to reach a compromise on the date of the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada.

Kyiv, May 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) prevented an attempt to arrest former major Mykola Melnychenko by officers of the State Border Service at Kyiv's Borispol international airport on Tuesday, Melnychenko's lawyer Pavlo Sychiov told Interfax-Ukraine.
