The Jean Monnet Programme has the objective to enhance knowledge of the European integration process. It does so by encouraging higher education institutions and/or associations of professors and researchers specialising in European integration to create teaching, research, reflection, information and debate activities on the European integration process. The Jean Monnet Programme is open for applications from higher education institutions and/or associations of professors and researchers from any country in the world.
The Jean Monnet Programme is part of the new Lifelong Learning Programme Starting in 2007, the call for proposals for the Jean Monnet Programme 2007 is integrated in the general call under the new Lifelong Learning Programme. The 2007 general Call for Proposals for applications for grants under the Lifelong Learning Programme was published by the European Commission on 20 December 2006.

Applications must comply with all terms of the full text and be submitted on the forms provided. Establishments of higher education and/or associations of professors and researchers specialising in European integration that are intending to submit an application under the Jean Monnet Programme should carefully read the full text of the call for proposals and the guidelines for applicants available on the Internet address listed above.
The deadline for the submission of applications under the Jean Monnet Programme is: 15 March 2007.
The Jean Monnet call for proposals is administered by the "Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency" Since 2006, the selection process for the Jean Monnet Programme is managed by the Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency. The Agency was set up by the European Commission by Decision 2005/56/EC of 14 January 2005. The Executive Agency is responsible for the management of certain education, culture and audiovisual programmes. It works under the political guidance and supervision of the European Commission.
