Delegation of Boryspil Airport has visited London

The delegation of Boryspil International Airport was welcomed by the representatives of Rank Corporation International (RCI) at a special workshop held from December 2 till December 12, 2006 in London. Rank International Corporation was founded in 1996 and currently it is one of the most reliable and highly qualified companies and a leader in the provision of business information. For this period of time the company has attracted not only a lot of clients but also has established friendly relations with the biggest companies of CIS and Baltic countries. One of the criteria of the company's policy is adherence to sustainable development and improvement of the quality of the services rendered.

Time and again management of Boryspil International Airport cooperates with RCI participating in international sittings in London as well as forwarding groups of the airport specialists to participate in specialized benchmarking and sharing best practices workshops.

This year meetings with Mr. Roger Hepworth, Chairman of Airport Planning & Development Ltd.; Mr.David Scotter, Marketing Director and Mrs.Bettina Knauer, Manager of Airports Operation of British Airports Group have been organized for the management of our enterprise. After plenary sessions the delegation visited Heathrow, the biggest airport of Great Britain. The delegates were enabled to be acquainted with security system innovations and ask their British colleagues questions they were interested in.

Visit to a specialized international exhibition and APTS Europe 2006 conference "Airports, Ports and Terminals Safety" comprised a part of this workshop.

Great Britain is a large transport state having 471 airports, 52 ports and 2507 railway stations. Apart of management by this huge transport complex top executes and service managers are faced the problems of security, safety and safeguarding of transport system against terrorist threat. The 6th Conference of APTS Europe 2006 and the following exhibition were devoted to these issues.

The leading speakers of the conference were Mr. Frank Gardner, OBE, BBC Security Correspondent; Sir Richard Mottam, KCB, the Cabinet Office; Lord Carlile of Berriew, OC and Mr. Patrick Mercer, OBE, MP, Shadow Minister for Homeland Security and others.

Boryspil International Airport, a gateway to Ukraine, handles 61% of all air traffic volume of the country. Currently 39 foreign and 32 Ukrainian airlines operate regular flights to the airport. Boryspil International Airport handles about 10,000 passengers per day (about 15,000 passengers in summer). The management of Boryspil Airport continuously improves efficiency of all economical and financial activity. The airport top executives are striving for provision of environment for continuous upgrading the professional level of the airport employees.
