BORDER CROSSING

Citizens crossing the frontier are permitted to the customs control area according to the valid documents giving the right to enter or leave the territory of Ukraine. A customs official may suggest a citizen to show a ticket and a passport or another document testifying the person, at the same time the customs official may ask the citizen questions according to the paragraphs of customs declaration.

Citizens entering or leaving Ukraine should declare goods, which they carry with themselves through the customs border of Ukraine orally, for the exception of the goods subject to compulsory declaring in written form, or the goods in quantities subject to taxation. Declaring is carried out by means of stating exact information about the goods and transport means, the aim of their transference through the customs border of Ukraine as well as information necessary for their customs control and customs registration.

Regarding using "red" or "green" corridor citizens take decisions independently.

Simplified customs control ("green" corridor) is used in cases of transference of goods which are not subject to compulsory declaring and taxation and do not belong to the category of goods transference of which is prohibited or limited.

Citizens passing through "green" corridor are exempted from customs declaration presenting. Exemption from customs declaration presenting does not mean exemption from obligatory maintenance of the order of goods transference through the customs border of Ukraine.
