Department of technology of electrochemical manufactures

The Department of Technology of Electrochemical Manufactures was founded in 1929 year. During period 1929 - 2001 years 2500 specialists are prepared, from which 240 have received of degree of candidate and 20 - doctorate of sciences.

The students-electrochemists have received fundamental knowledge at theoretical and applied electrochemistry with using computer technique and engineer and undergraduate preparation on a level of world standards at:

• technology of electrochemical manufactures;
• electrochemical monitoring of ecology safety and corrosion activity of technical environments;
• electrochemical energetics;
• electrochemical methods of purification.

The studying of students was providing on three educational-qualification levels: the bachelor - 4; the specialist (specialities - technology of electrochemical manufactures and corrosion protection of metal) - 5,5 and the undergraduate - 6 years.

The graduates of department have wide possibilities in a choice of further work. Ordinary spheres of their activity are research-scientific and project-constructional organizations, manufactures of chemical, petroleum, electronic, device-, machine- and airbuilding industries, ecological organization.

The graduates of department have possibilities to continue post-graduate studying at department and institutes of National Scientific Academy of Ukraine.

At the department of technology of electrochemical manufactures post-graduate studying works on specialities "Technical electrochemistry" and "Chemical resistance of materials and corrosion protection". On the same specialities at NTUU "KPI" specialized council on presentation of the candidate and doctorate dissertations is organized.

On the department of technology of electrochemical manufactures scientific research are providing on trends:

• sensors for ecological monitoring of air and technical environments;
• methods and technical means of electrochemical monitoring of corrosion activity of technical environments;
• galvanic protection, decorative and functional covering;
• theory of corrosion processes and inhibitor methods of metal protection;
• electrochemical energetics, chemical power sources and electrochemical generators.

The scientific-teaching collective with high qualification are providing the studying of specialist-electrochemist. The scientific-teaching collective includes 4 professors, 7 senior lecturers and 11 scientific employees, among which 4 have degree of doctorate and 10 of candidate of sciences.
