The faculty of Chemical Technology was one of the four faculties of Kiev Polytechnic Institute founded in 1898. Among the professors of the faculty one could mention M.I.Konovalov, V.B.Timofeyev, M.O.Prilezhayev, L.I. Antzorov, F.N. Stepanov, academicians V.G. Shaposhnikov V.A. Plotnikov and others. Currently the Faculty consists of 7 departments and 8 research laboratories. Main areas of scientific activity: development of modern technologies of new organic, bioorganic, inorganic and composite materials, including pest-control in agriculture, medicines, metal corrosion inhibitors, coagulators, electrochemical sensors, technics in electroplating and devices based on electrochemical principles.
