The self-proclaimed fashion guru released his ignominious list Tuesday with the pop star and the hotel heiress tied for the top spot. Celebrity partying pals Britney Spears (top) and Paris Hilton were dubbed "two peas in an overexposed pod" by fashion critic Richard Blackwell. The tabloid twosome topped Blackwell`s annual worst-dressed list. (Richard Lewis, Miranda Shen/Associated Press) Blackwell, a former designer who has dressed the likes of Jayne Mansfield and Peggy Lee, described the pair as "two peas in an overexposed pod." Spears made headlines in late 2006 for her sudden burst of late-night partying with the often scantily dressed Hilton. Their outings began soon after Spears announced she was seeking a divorce from husband Kevin Federline. Spears, a frequent entry on Blackwell`s list over the years, has most recently been criticized by both fans and the general public for her skimpy clothing choices and when paparazzi photographs of her stepping out of cars revealed she often wasn`t wearing panties. Landing second was Camilla Parker-Bowles, the wife of Prince Charles. Blackwell criticized Parker-Bowles`s choice of feathered hats and described her as the "duchess of dowdy." Actress Lindsay Lohan, another of Hilton`s party-girl pals, placed third while singers Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey rounded out the top five. Also making Blackwell`s list, and receiving sarcastic commentary, were: American Idol judge Paula Abdul ("a fallen fashion idol.") Actress Sharon Stone ("over-the-hill Cruella DeVille.") Actress Tori Spelling ("down and out in Beverly Hills.") Canadian actress Sandra Oh ("layered lunacy from head to toe.") Actress Meryl Streep ("Her beauty of a career cannot be denied, but that beast of a wardrobe is pure mother of the bride.") On the flip side, Blackwell praised 10 celebrities as "fabulous fashion independents" and encouraged the worst-dressed offenders to emulate the likes of: Actresses Marcia Cross, Katie Holmes, Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet.
