After admitting to ourselves that yet another shelf in the house would only end up covered in stacks of junk, we decided to drop function and go for ambience. We discussed and then he dove in and put our ideas into action. The finished product couldn't be more perfect. THIS ROCKS   Logged "In the beginning God created..." farmerpunk Offline Posts: 17Joined: 19-Jan-2005 Re: woven room divider « Reply #7 on: March 13, 2005 05:24:15 PM » Hello everyone.  The frames are made of balsa wood and the interior slats are edging vaneer strips so they are flexible.  The frames are glued with regular wood glue, and then the paper is glued in with PVA glue so it dries clear.  Elmers would probably work ok too.  Then I glued on another frame piece on the back to hide all of the joints.  The lights are a couple of bulbs (on a dimmer switch) I wired up and hang free on the back side.  If you want to do something like this and you plan on staining it, I found that is much easier to stain the pieces before you glue them.  Thanks for your comments.-tk- THIS ROCKS   Logged Dree Offline Posts: 47Joined: 18-Feb-2005 Re: woven room divider « Reply #8 on: March 13, 2005 09:36:19 PM » Thanks so much for the specifics -  my husband and I love this!!
