Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Canonical

. [] [UKR] [ENG] A SHORT HISTORY OF VLADYKA MOISEY / MOSES The inthronization of Patriarch of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. Patriarch Mstyslav hands over the cross to Archdeacon Oleh (now Patriarch Moisey) in St. Sofia Cathedral, Kyiv, 1990 Patriarch of Kyiv and all Rus - Ukraine Vladyka Moses was born on the 3rd of May 1962 in the town of Medzhybish, Khmelnytska region. Having finished school in 1978 he entered Khmelnytsky Musical College which finished with honours having got the diploma of the teacher of music as a flutist and conductor of band and symphonic orchestras. After military service in Khmelnytsky Higher Commanding Artillery College he entered Khmelnitsky Technological Institute, Engineering-Economical Faculty which he finished in 1988. He worked in this Institute as Head producer and studied at Khmelnytsky Eparchy simultaneously and passed the exams with success to become a priest. In 1989 he was Precentor of Archiyereisky professional choir of the cathedral " Nativity of Theotokos" with which appeared before parishioners of Khmelnytska and Vinnitska region popularizing orthodox singing, besides Bishop divine services In 1989 he was ordained Deacon at the cathedral "The Nativity of Theotokos" in the town of Khmelnytsky. Wishing to hold divine services in the Ukrainian language so that God's Word was thrown open to the hearts of believers of Ukraine that was forbidden in Russian Orthodox Church Vladyka Moses ( Deacon at that time) asked for documents of leave in 1990 and went to the UAOC which was at the beginning of its revival and needed its devotees- missionaries and was appointed Metropolitan Administrator for Khmelnytska, Vinnytska and Zhytomyrska regions. From May 1990 to October 1992 Vladyka Moses with the mission of revival of the Ukrainian Church visited 195 villages and towns of Khmelnytska, Vinnytska and Zhytomyrska regions organizing and registering communities of the UAOC part of which was later persuaded and reregistered by Moscow priests and communist-oriented power of Russian Orthodox Church. In 1990 in the town of Khmelnitsky praying under the open sky in the course of 7 months Vladyka Moses (father Oleh Kulyk) won the Cathedral of "Apostle Andrew Pervozvannyi" from the communist power, and Army. He opened the school of priests in which he prepared 19 candidatures to be ordained. He opened and reconstructed old churches establishing new communities of the UAOC where people were very glad to have their native Church. But Moscow priests as black hawks sent by Vladyka Nifont with constant prompting of Yatsenko, Plenipotentiary in affairs of religion in Khmelnitsky region tried to hamper the development of the UAOC in Podillia. At the end of 1992 the opposition of hostile forces became very brutal. Vladyka and his parents became to be prosecuted. Hostile forces burnt his parents' house, set his flat on fire, assaulted him but he was saved by a miracle - God helped him. They shoot six times at the windows of his parents which were close to his. They crippled his mother. There were forteen attacks on the life of his kinsfolk about which there are written evidences of police bodies. All this made Vladyka (archpriest Oleh Kulyk at that time) leave his Motherland and move to the USA where he continued to serve selflessly in churches of UAOC-USA under Omofphore Patriarch Mstislav-I, till this Church preserved its autochephaly. And when Vladykas Antoniy and Kostiantyn betrayed the Autochephaly of the Ukrainian Church and went under Omophore of Patriarch Varfolomiy of Constantinople. The first religious community of UAOC in the USA, t. New- Haven in which priest Oleh began his divine services. In such a situation Vladyka did not wish to be in the Church which become seperait from Mother-Ukraine further on and asked for documents of leave and in 1997 went from thtis Church. In the same yer 1997 in the city of Detroit, Michigan, USA Vladyka established a new community for newly-arrived immigrants from the former USSR who prayed in the Ukrainian Church and perceived the prayer in Ukrainian with great pleasure being from all corners not only from Ukraine, but from Russia, Byelorussia, Lithuania and other countries. Vladyka helped tham to find a job, dwelling and legalize the immigration status. He always helped everybody as a kind Samarian in critical situations. Simultaneously he learnt to be a chaplain, and worked with seriously ill patients in the hospital, took care after paralytic ones, reconstructed the Prayer House to be the Church performing all construction work himself. Having no free time but being in spiritually elevated mood he conducted the lessons of religion, divine services, giving his time and warmth of his heart to each soul. The community of Father Oleh grew in Christian love to him and each other in hundreds of newly-returned souls from atheism. All the work in the church was completed, the community was established, live and enjoy the fruits of his labor but the visit to Ukraine for study in Theological Academy which Vladyka finished in 2002, meetings with spiritually thirsty people awoke his spiritual necessity of returning home to Ukraine where millions of nice people in the search of truth and spiritual care suffer in the chaos of misunderstandings and inability to build their happy life in their State in accordance with God's Laws or Laws of Life as Vladyka calls them in order to live happily in harmony with God. In 2000 enriched with spiritual, vitally important and missionary experience, with a great desire to help his native people live in love as one family Vladyka Moses returned to Ukraine forever and asked patriarch Filaret for the most difficult responsible field for missionary activity of UPC - KP in Transcarpathia. During the year of his service in Transcarpathia as a missionary priest he visited many districts and registered 12 parishes, some of them already function. He preached God's word at local TV in the propgram "Art to live", preached in schools, kindergartens, different organizations, teaching people a high theology in simple forms with practical application to life as a result of which people feel the presence of God's love in their hearts and to each other. Starting again from zero in Uzhgorod his community grew into hundreds of believers from the former atheists and united former Catholic and Orthodox believers into one Christ family. The people of Transcarpathia came to love Vladyka Moses (Priest Oleh at that time) and began to ask patriarch Filaret and Synod to ordain Father Oleh as Bishop in their numerous appeals and visiting him personally. In reply with Filaret's blessing the Synod of members of higher orders of clergy took place which with one vote against found him worthy and approved Father Oleh to be ordained Bishop. For this he was put to the monastery for some days as it is necessary when ordaining in festive days. But the stay in the monastery for some unknown reasons was dragged out from week to week. So Vladyka had to live in Mykhailivsky monastery for four months and see all the nature of Vadym Rudiuk who in 1996 started his activity as novice and now he is Bishop and Rector of Theological Academy who being Filaret's right hand guides and gets ready to take his post that is a normal thing but makes Vladyka Dmitriy Rudiuk clear away the road for himself. In such a way he organized his monastery brotherhood to carry on mean intrigues against openness and Christian love of Vladyka Moses. Such intrigues between the priesthood which give birth to fear one another opened his eyes on morally- corrupted inner essence of governing bodies of UPC-KP that made Vladyka think deeply over his further stay in Filaret's church. Will it be right to lead people following Filaret or abandon him and lead them following God? And this was God's Providence so that Vladyka saw what was going on in the present-day Ukrainian Church without any illusions. These people who head the Church of Ukraine on Moscow leaven don't go to redemption themselves and don't lead other people. And the corruption of clergy leads to much larger corruption of the society of Ukraine which is on the verge of debauch and survival. To Vladyka's mind, the Church, as God's organization, should be the instance of truth and love so that lead people to a happy life with God. Intrigues are forbidden in the church and priests should not be afraid of their Vladykas but love and trust them as real ecclesiastics. Vladyka believed that for his service in Ukraine there will be some way out because he was born on this land that is called Ukraine not in vain and not in vain his love in his heart to his people made him leave a successful life in the USA and come into spiritual devastation of Ukraine from which he had suffered many times. In 2002 in June Vladyka Moses leaves Filaret's church as that one who came freely to serve God's cause and not to corruption and he leaves freely because he didn't come to serve him but God and Ukraine. Continuing his submissive service in Uzhgorod in Sviato-Troitska community. One day Vladyka got a blessed telephone call from Vladyka Michael, Coadjutor to the Primate in UAOC - Sobornopravna in the USA telling that they have been looking for Vladyka and would be glad to ordain him Archierey of UAOC for Ukraine in order to revive a canonical bishop branch for the Ukrainian Church and work on uniting Churches into one Soborna Church of Ukraine, to help and revive a historical justice of the Ukrainian Church of Kyiv Metropolia of Rus-Ukraine, to make use of the status of recognition and autochephaly given by the Thomos in 1924 by His All-Holiness Gregorios VII. Vladyka agreed to this proposal with great pleasure. Thus, God called Vladyka Moses to be ordained in His pure Church which through persecutions of God-fighting power preserved its purity from NKVD-KGB and anathemas in order to serve Ukraine in sacred purity. On the 1st of October, 2002 the Archiereysky Sobor of Canonical Bishops of UAOC-Sobornopravna being inspired by the Holy Spirit having learnt the faithful service of Vladyka to God came to an agreement that Vladyka Moses is worthy to be a candidate for such difficult and responsible service in God's Glory and saving souls who live in Ukraine and he will be ordained Bishop and raised to Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine. On the 10th of October 2002 in the Cathedral of "Saints Boris and Gleb", Cleveland, state Ohio, USA the Chirothony was held which ordained Vladyka Moses as Archierey and raised him to Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Rus-Ukraine. The main person in this Chirothony was Michael Yavchak-Champion, Coadjutor to the Primate in UAOC-Sobornopravna in the USA and Chor - Chirothonizing Metropolitan Stephan Babiy-Petrovych, the first hierarch of UAOC-Soborna in the USA . Both have a canonical bishop line from Metropolitan Dionisiy Waledynsky (look canonical line). In October 2002 Vladyka Moses arrived in Ukraine so that to begin the revival of Genuine Christ Church having for this canonical authorities of a canonical branch of UAOC - USA . And much larger authorities from God himself who sent his faithful servant to us in order to lead us out of slavery of sin.
