Ruslana - ukrainian singer that has won with a song "Wild dances" in the Eurovision contest in 2004 got the right to provide Eurovision 2005 in Kiev, Ukraine. 35 countries sent their representatives to Kiev. Tickets were sold. Hotels were full. Hopefully, all the guests discovered and found Kiev as wonderful, warm and interesting city. Beside participating in the contest people had great time discovering new old city for yourself. Kiev is 1500 years old city, it has huge amount of historical places, museums and art galleries. It is old itself, but new for Europeans. A lot of churches (photo gallery here) that survived through the communist times are more than thousand years old. Usual thing that old pretty decorated house you are looking at turnes out to be more than 100 years old. But also plenty of quiet caffes all around the city were open for a guests some of them in a parks of Kiev. Kievan youth like to spend their spare time on main square of Kiev - Independence square (maydan Nezalejnosti) It was Greek singer that got the main prize at Eurovision 2005 in Kiev... but main idea that people discovered Kiev as anciently modern city that is open for a visitors from all around the world The Eurovision Song Contest of 2006 was held in Athenes from 19 till 20 of May 2006. Tina Karol - ukrainian singer that represented Ukraine with song "Show me your love" in the Eurovision contest in 2006 got 7-th place.
