Description: Conceived of the desire to dynamically partition open space into more intimate and ephemeral surroundings, in a flexible and temporal way.This modern room divider is made of 400 layers of honeycombed translucent white, fire-retardant paper, bounded by felt ends. The softwall dampens sound and can both absorb and transmit light. The felt ends use velcroe so you may connect more than one wall together. One Softwall expands from a 5" box out to 25 feet in length. It can be any length up to 25 feet and curved like an "S" or a "U" or however you like. The softwall stands on its own but must be on a smooth surface or short nap carpet. The felt ends help to give it rigidity to stand, but the wall must be in a curved shape. It comes 6 foot high or 4 foot high - both 12" thick, and also one 3 foot high and 18" thick which is called the softsurface because you can use the top as a surface.Softwall is sculptural yet fully functional and just simply brilliant design. That is why it has already won many design awards after debuting in 2005 and is now part of MoMA's permanent collection!New for 2006 is the Fabric Softwall made of white fabric like material - like Tyvek. It is tear resisent and waterproof.
