Viral Infections Laboratory The laboratory was founded by the academician V.M. Zhdanov in 1946. The basic investigation directions of the laboratory were the following: scientific researches on the problem of neuroinfection , poliomyelitis, influenza, rota - and the coronaviruses enteric infections. At present, the efforts of the scientific researches of the laboratory are directed on study of the role of herpesviruses in perinatal pathology and morbidity of young age children. The system for the complex virus-morphological prognosis of a risk degree for the evolution of intrauterino herpesviruses pathology is developed. The purpose of this investigation is a decreasing of morbidity, disability and mortality at newborns. Panchenko Ludmila Aleksandrovna , Head of the virology laboratory, M.D., Professor.
