It started its operation in 1994 and became the second of the five schools in Ukraine founded with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation. Its mission is to promote the ideas of the Open Society and international understanding through education, providing a high quality of foreign language teaching. The city of Lviv is known as a pearl of Western Ukraine, with its beautiful architecture (in some parts the buildings are preserved from medieval times), rich cultural and historical heritage, beauty of its parks and varied national cuisine and hospitable people. Among courses in other languages, International House Lviv offers courses in Ukrainian and Russian as foreign languages. General Ukrainian/ Russian General Ukrainian / Russian plus cultural sights An intensive course (5 days a week, up to 8 hrs a day) IH Lviv offers one-to-one and two-to-one classes as well as group ones. The courses are designed according to the learner's needs. The level of the student's initial knowledge is always taken into consideration. The principal teaching method is communicative with an emphasis on developing speaking skills, so that the learner can use the language in a variety of situations. The courses are taught by specialists, proficient in Ukrainian and Russian, who will make learning equally effective and thoroughly enjoyable. Our students are those who come to work in Lviv or its region from abroad, so you may have a chance to meet your compatriots, as well as those who come to Lviv with the only purpose to learn the language in its natural surrounding. The school can organize family accommodation and sightseeing programs for you so that you have a chance to continue applying the acquired language skills in a relaxed atmosphere while being immersed in the language environment. The cost of tuition is between 20 and 30 USD per 60-minute hour, depending on course complexity and intensity.
