Here is the old version >> About TryUkraine.com Advertising options About author Old site design Support TryUkraine About TryUkraine.com TryUkraine.com is a semi-commercial informative website about Ukraine that focuses on: useful information for visitors and expats interesting opportunities in Ukraine (work, study, business, and recreation) current events and interesting aspects of Ukrainian life beautiful places to visit (now over 1000 photos !) These topics reflect the personal interests of website author and designer Rick DeLong . TryUkraine.com is not itself an organization, but it has partnership agreements with travel agencies and other commercial organizations. If there is something you'd like to see on the site that correlates well with the site's subject matter, please tell me your ideas. Send me a note through the guestbook , leave a public message in the forum , or write me directly at postmaster@tryukraine.com . TryUkraine history I began this project in early 2003 after two years in Ukraine. The original focus was to help foreigners come to Ukraine for internships. This was called the "Ukraine Work Study Program" and is being continued today. See how the old TryUkraine website looked here . As I provided more and more information about Ukraine on my website, I realized that it could easily be turned into a country guide or portal with useful information about Ukraine for foreign visitors. Since the new site was published in January 2005, I have continued to update and expand it frequently. At the moment (mid-October 2006) I am busy redoing the site design and structure in order to move TryUkraine.com to a new level. Soon the site appearance readers are used to will be a thing of the past, but the best elements of that design will be integrated into the new site. What makes TryUkraine.com unique — in my opinion — is that its main goal is to provide useful information and not to promote the services of a commercial entity or pursue a certain ideology. This ensures that the information is objective and does not paint Ukraine is an overly rozy hue. Because I, the author , have lived in Ukraine and other Slavic countries for many years, speak the language fluently, and am surrounded by natives (not expatriates) in my day-to-day life, I have a view of the culture and country that many visitors to Ukraine do not see. This point of view also contributes to the value of this site. - Learn more about advertising at TryUkraine.com Interested in a partnership? If you offer services to foreigners in Ukraine that you would like to promote with the help of TryUkraine.com, I am open to collaboration. Write to me at postmaster@tryukraine.com . I am also interested in business projects in areas that this website focuses on (see list at top). In addition, anyone may advertise Ukraine-related goods and services (except for marriage and dating services) for free in the corresponding section of our message board .
