This small charming village has some breathtaking views out toward the mountains, good access and some interesting historic sites, like many of the villages in this area. Obidim (also known as Obydym or Obidym) is famous for a beautiful monastery that was built in the Second Bulgarian Kingdom on ancient consecrated ground overlooking the village itself. Situated between the Bezbojka River (which means "Godless River") and a sacred mineral water spring, the St. Panteleymon Monastery is an attractive spot. Panteleymon Monastery is home to some very beautiful and rare icons which have been kept in this monastery since 1914. Panteleymon Monastery is only open in the summer months (from May until September) and is a popular tourist destination- particularly as it opens up onto completely unspoilt Pirin countryside and has some truly spectacular views. In fact, you can even see the Greek and Macedonian mountain ranges in the distance. According to Bansko's mayor, Alexander Kravarov, has said that last year, 20 houses had been purchased by non-Bulgarians (primarily Brits) in Obidim village. Not surprising due to its excellent location and all year round usage! For the best Bansko apartments for sale and Bansko property for sale, visit www.skipropertybg.com !
